Countdown to The L Word Season 5 – Top 400 Moments #335-331

Shows

Today’s portion of the Countdown consists of a couple of moments from Season 2’s Lagrimas De Or and a couple of moment from Season 4’s Long Time Coming. But there’s also a Season 3 moment thrown in as well. It’s #335-331 in the Top 400!

#335 – Brand New Dana Fairbanks (Latecomer)

The recording for “Transformation” is in progress as some more friends drop in to say hi. Elizabeth, Amy and Alyson from the band, BETTY are there, along with Nona Hendryx to help Kit do a new version of Nona’s “Transformation” song. Angus is there to help produce, while Tina, Helena and Dylan are watching on as guests. Alice and Shane arrive with wild hairdos and get some nice laughs from the group. They then introduce the, “Brand New,” Dana Fairbanks. Dana arrives, her head fully shaven and is presented by her best friends as being chic with chemotherapy fashion. Everyone wishes her well and the day itself is one of the last positive ones for Dana.

#334 – Suprise Visit To La Jolla (Lagrimas De Oro)

Shane just isn’t sure this is a good idea. Alice however insists and that it’s for hers and Dana’s own good. The sooner Dana’s gone from Tonya, the better. Tonya’s out of the room that she and Dana are staying in for the tennis tournament in La Jolla. It’s now time for Alice to make her move. She knocks on the door and Dana lets her in. They make out for a few seconds and Alice hands Dana a note, essentially a script for Dana to follow in breaking up with Tonya. Dana’s unsure about this whole notion, but there’s no time to argue now as Tonya is on her way back. It’s here where Alice realizes that she didn’t think her plan all the way through and hides as Tonya enters. Dana has a nervous smile on her face, which intrigues Tonya, but before speculation can begin, Alice springs forward with a suprise hello. Tonya gets a good laugh out of it, feeling that Alice is obviously there to support Dana in the tournament.

#333 – Jenny Crashes The Meeting (Long Time Coming)

Lorenzo wasn’t really sick and Jenny suspected as much. It’s a staff meeting to go over the Lez Girls movie and in an effort to Jenny out of the meeting, Tina had lied to her, saying that it was cancelled due to Lorenzo being sick. Tina and Kathleen are there with the rest of the staff…including Lorenzo. Before things can get going, Jenny arrives with her pet dog, Sounder II. Accusations are thrown and Jenny’s wrath is comedically felt with Jenny pointing out that Kathleen just wants to have sex with Tina. Through it all, things are getting heated only for Sounder II to disrupt things by peeing on the table.

#332 – The Ringmaster (Lagrimas De Oro)

There weren’t many notable occassions for Jenny’s mindset in Season 2. Her mind was always churning out strange thoughts, mixed with childhood flashbacks, but this time it was all about the present. As she writes, her mind wanders off into the circus, where Charlotte Birch, Jenny’s teacher is the Ringmaster. Jenny is a ballerina high atop the tightrope. Jenny’s girlfriend, Carmen is a multiple armed seductress, while Jenny’s friend and Carmen’s possible sexual interest, Shane is presented as the tamer with a whip. Shane goes to Carmen and tames her with a kiss, causing the ballerina, Jenny to fall into an abyss. Of the Season 2 moments involving Jenny’s mind, this is arguably the best of the bunch.

#331 – Dear Jodi Texting (Long Time Coming)

Bette and Tina are chatting, discussing various ordeals, including Jenny whom Bette is not too fond of at the moment. Jodi is mentioned and Tina can tell that Bette really likes her and wants her back. Tina takes Bette’s phone and texts Jodi on Bette’s behalf, punching in just the right words to put Bette back on the path of righteousness. Throughout the episode, it’s made clear that Bette and Tina obviously still care for one another and this time, it means Tina trying to help Bette get back with Jodi. Kathleen (who appears to have a thing for Tina) arrives and Bette takes that as her cue to depart.

Tomorrow, moments #330-326!
