TNA News & Notes

News

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, who’s becoming one of the top IWC newsies around, has reported that Jerry Lynn has asked for his TNA release. Lynn, one of the longest-tenured TNA stars going back to 2002, was granted the release and as we noted earlier in the week, taken off of the TNAWrestling.com roster page.

Also according to Johnson, Matt Bentley’s contract expired on 8/20, and “matters came to a head” due to criticism of TNA on a recent episode of BetweenTheRopes radio. If you listen to the interview, you’ll hear him talk about poor morale, claim TNA talent is upset that former WWE guys were getting bigger pushes, say that booker Dutch Mantel has his head up Jeff Jarrett’s ass and is the reason Serotonin didn’t get over, and rail against TNA for an unceremonious release. He also said that he has never been tested for drugs by TNA, nor does he know of anyone who has.

In other TNA news, Karen Angle is now “a contracted performer with the company,” according to PWInsider… Recent signee Pacman Jones is working on a rap album… and Big Vito recently told World Wrestling Insanity that Kurt Angle was working on getting him into TNA.

Matthew Michaels is editor emeritus of Pulse Wrestling, and has been since the site launched.
