Originally slated as a direct to video sequel that didnt really have any big name stars in it, things have surely changed.

Lost Boys 2: The Tribe has recently gotten a big leg up in the department of going from a second film that has nothing to do with the first, all the way up to a legitimate sequel. Horror icon Tom Savini (From Dusk Til Dawn) has joined the cast along with a few stars from the first film. Originally slated not to have any part in the film, both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman will be returning to reprise their roles from the first film.

And that isn’t the only news thing that has changed.

Savini said, “Both Coreys are in it now. And originally it was going to be direct to video, but because of the success of their reality show, The Tribe is going to go theatrical.” He continued on with a little more info about the film. “I’m one of the first vampires you see in the movie. I’m a surfer who runs into the vampires at the beginning of the film, in a sequence that is shot very Sergio Leone-style. They’re shooting The Tribe in Vancouver right now, and I’ll be there September 11.

Kiefer Sutherland who starred in the first film won’t be in this one, but his half-brother Angus Sutherland will be in a yet unannounced role but as a possible vampire. Lost Boys 2: The Tribe is due out later this year or early next year.
