[EXCLUSIVE] Idol Viewers Allowed To Choose Songs For Top 3 Finalists

Reality Dish can exclusively report that Canadian Idol viewers will be able to vote at idol.ctv.ca from August 21-28 for the songs that the Top 3 will sing on Sept. 3.

It is the first time in North America that song selection will be opened up to the public.

Viewers can vote from a short list of three songs per competitor that is now available at idol.ctv.ca.

The Idol contestants who are left in the competition will also be workshopping with judge Sass Jordan before the performance episode.

In addition, the Idols will also perform one song on the show that will be picked by the judges.

The Top 3 results show, airing on Sept. 4 will also be expanded to 60 minutes and will feature a performance by Season 2 Idol winner, Kalan Porter.

Here are the choices (note that two competitors will be eliminated before this episode airs).

Dwight d’Eon

Carly Rae Jepsen
1. “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5
2. “White Flag” by Dido
3. “Til It Happens To You” by Corinne Bailey Rae

Brian Melo
1. “Dig” by Incubus
2. “Lightning Crashes” by Live
3. “That Song” by Big Wreck

Matt Rapley
1. “Too Shy To Say” by Stevie Wonder
