Smackdown Spoilers for August 24, 2007

News, Spoilers

Following are Smackdown spoilers from last night’s taping at The Colonial Center in Columbia, SC, based on reports by Robert Truesdale at PWInsider.com and Thomas Simpson at WrestlingObserver.com…

– Johnny Jeter (Spirit Squad) beat Matt Anoai (Rosey) with the Jeter Kick in a dark match.

– Jesse & Festus Dalton beat Dave Taylor & Paul Burchill in a dark match.

– Smackdown opened with Mr. McMahon and Jonathan Coachman coming out and continuing the “illegitimate son” plotline. First Kane comes out, demanding a match with Finlay. Since Finlay is facing Batista in the main event, Kane will face Finlay at Summerslam.

– Next out is Chris Masters, who brings out a picture of him with Vince back when he was a young teenager. Vince makes a comment about his scrawny neck, Masters challenges Kane to a Masterlock Challenge, but Kane choke slams the Masterpiece.

– Chuck Palumbo beats Chris Masters, prompting Vince to rip up the photo of him with Masters, who can’t possibly be his son now.

– Funaki beat Chavo Guerrero by DQ after Chavo puts the Mysterio mask on Funaki and tries to take out his knee. Chavo came out to the ring with a mannequin head wearing the mask.

– Jamie Noble beat Jimmy Wang Yang to become the #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Championship.

– Teddy Long and Kristal Marshall are shown backstage, with Kristal changing into her bikini. MVP interrupted, saying he was so good he could win the WWE title, the Cruiserweight title (if he made weight) and the WWE Tag Team titles with any partner. Teddy said he would team up with the next person who walked in the room, who of course was Matt Hardy, asking for a US Title match. Teddy made Matt & Montel vs. Deuce & Domino for next week.

– Deuce & Domino beat Shannon Moore & Eugene Dinsmore.

– MVP and Matt Hardy went to a no contest in a one-on-one basketball challenge after Deuce & Domino laid them both out.

– Mark Henry squashed Brad Allen (a.k.a. Carolina Wrestling Association’s Brad Attitude), and another creepy Undertaker video airs, followed by footage of druids digging up a box filled with snakes and the Undertaker’s symbol.

– Mae Young won a Divas Bikini Contest over Michelle McCool, Victoria, Torrie Wilson and Kristal Marshall.

– Batista beat Finlay by DQ after interference by The Great Khali. No Flair, but the show ends in a pull-apart brawl that features some WWE producers (road agents).

– After ECW took place, Batista beat The Great Khali by DQ in a short dark match. Finlay and Hornswaggle interfered, as did Kane, who along with DAVE, double-chokeslammed Khali to send the fans home happy.
