Pulse Wrestling Roundtable for WWE SummerSlam

Features, Roundtables

Hello once again folks, as we here at Inside Pulse present to you our picks for this years WWE SummerSlam. Enjoy.

WWE Championship
John Cena vs Randy Orton

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be John Cena vs Snitsky? Of course, that was before Randy won a #1 Contender’s match against a hotel room. How you get so rude and reckless? Don’t you be so crude and feckless. Working headlocks instead of spotfests, Randie can’t fail, no no…

Winner – G.A.Y.O.R.T.O.N.H.E.Y.

Mark Allen: This is a match I have been waiting to see for a long time. I’ve always liked these two and felt they were of the best/most marketable to come out of Ohio Valley. I’m glad that their first big time match is on a big four PPV like SummerSlam. I think Orton walks out of this fued with the WWE Championship so he can drop to Triple H. It’s just a question of whether it happens here or at Unforgiven.

Winner – Randy Orton

Danny Cox: Not sure if they want to continue with Cena being Hulk Hogan or have Orton hold the title for a good month or two for variety. God I could really care less about either. But ya see, if Orton wins here they’re going to have to say the whole awkward, “Orton won his first world title here three years ago by beating in a very difficult match.” I’m going for awkward.

Winner and NEW Champ – Randy Orton

Raffi Shamir: I’m a John Cena fan. I can admit that because I’m not writing for PulseWrestling, so I’m not a member of the IWC. One of the reasons I like him is because I enjoy seeing the reactions of those who hate him every time he keeps his title. The past two years I went to public screenings of Wrestlemania and of course there were kids there who were brainwashed by the IWC to think that Cena is the incarnation of evil. Seeing these kinds weep when Cena beat not only Triple H last year but also Shawn Michaels this year was pure joy. Yes, I enjoy seeing kids cry (And reading IWCers weep as they describe another Cena victory). And then there’s Randy Orton. He was being groomed for greatness when he was a member of Evolution. But he blew it. He wasn’t alone in that – several mistakes were made by the booking team, but Orton’s attitude didn’t help. If things had gone as planned for Randy Orton’s career, his feud with Cena could have become the a money feud just like Rock vs. Austin or Rock vs. Triple H. But it’s not. As much as I like Cena, I wouldn’t mind seeing him drop the title and take a couple of weeks or months off to rest. With Triple H and Rey Mysterio coming back, they can afford to give him a little vacation. Orton can put him on the shelf with a punt kick which will make him a huge star for doing what no-body else could – not only beat Cena but also destroy him. Then, of course, Orton will lose the title to Triple H after only four weeks and go back to being a disgruntled midcarder. Still, either man can win here, but I’ll go with Orton.

Winner – Randy Orton

Matthew Michaels: It’s time for Orton to ‘kill’ the legend of John Cena, right? Why not?

Winner – Randy Orton

Andrew Wheeler: Okay, so the match is a foregone conclusion. So what? Orton/Cena was the rumored main event for Wrestlemania 21 and 22 so we’re finally getting to see the “future of the WWE” meet in the ring. There are still intangibles in this match, however. First, what kind of match are we going to get? The only real Orton/Cena match that I can remember was at the Eddie memorial show. Other then that, these two have been kept pretty separated, which means this is actually a fresh match-up. On the other hand, neither of these two can be confused with technical masters, so the match might not reach more than 3 snowflakes. The second thing that’s interesting here deals with John Cena. The fans aren’t stupid and can connect the dots to see that Orton/Hunter is coming down the pike. But when? I doubt they’ll do that match at Unforgiven since that’s Taker’s show and a Hunter title win would overshadow the event. That PPV’s got its guaranteed buyrate from Taker fans dying to see him fight Mark Henry. Seriously, I don’t get Undertaker fans. So, on the RAW side, I’m sure we’ll get Cena/Orton 2. But after that, what for Cena? He hasn’t been out of the main event title picture in years so it’ll be fun to see how it’s handled. Thankfully, the WWE can mask this pretty easily. The next major PPV is Survivor Series. Captain Cena on a team means that he doesn’t need a major singles feud. Then you’ve got Armageddon where we can watch Cena/Kennedy or something of that caliber. Next thing you know, it’s the Rumble and Cena’s back in the title picture, chasing whoever’s champ into Wrestlemania. This match at Summerslam also ends my streak of excuses for the WWE. The gravy train stops here, folks. They’re getting Hunter back, they’re getting Rey back, and they’re getting Taker back. They also managed to salvage the limo explosion angle into a way to push Kennedy to the moon. They also struck pure gold with the magic that is MVP. If Umaga catches on, the WWE just replaced Kane. There is no reason why the ship cannot be turned back on course, so man up Vince and make it happen. The best way to start is to not botch the Orton title run.

Winner: Randy “Gonna Get Fed to Hunter Like Arbys to the Big Show” Orton

Vinny Truncellito: Word on the street for months has been that RKO will drop the strap to Mr. McMahon. Mr. HUNTER McMahon, that is. In order for that to happen, Randy must take the bling-belt away from Cena at some point, so why not now? Cena’s character could really be revitalized while being frustrated about being kept away from the belt for a spell.

Winner – Randy Orton

World Heavyweight Title
The Great Gary vs Batista

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be Undertaker vs Mark Henry? Can’t wait for that epic next month. It’s almost as exciting as that time I stuck my balls into my mouth and swivelled on the carpet till a concentric circle of brown worked its way into the fabric, topped off by the subtle sprays of saliva and testicular sweat that slimed out of my plugged and gagging face-cavity. Except that I never did that. So this is most exciting! Wait, what match are we talking about again? Ohhhh… riiiiight… now, altogether: no, thanks.

Winner – the largest man in the world to own a Wonder Woman lunchbox, probably, BATISTA

The Great Gary vs Batista

Mark Allen: Being Undertaker is coming back in September, it looks like this fued with continue for another month as well so that Undertaker can take the winner here at either No Mercy or Survivor Series. UT has got beef with both guys so either is a ready-made fued. Another toss-up.

Winner – Gary

Danny Cox: My God is this going to suck and I’m really not sure where on Earth they are planning on going with it. The point of leaving the title Khali is well, there really is no point there. And putting the title on DAVE is retarded because there is no-one for him to feud with anyway. My guess is that there is a title change but this feud continues unless, Oh God I hope they wouldn’t force us to sit through a Khali/Mysterio feud. Screw it, coin flip

Winner and STILL Champ – Da Gweat Khawi

Raffi Shamir: Jim Ross would call this match “Bowling Shoe Ugly”. It won’t be, because you can grow to like certain types of bowling shoes, but I can’t see anyone actually liking this match. But then again, I haven’t watched a full show of Smackdown (Or any other WWE show) in months so there’s a possibility that some magic happened and this duo suddenly became better. But I find that hard to believe. I’ll just go with Batista winning here because I have Orton winning the Raw title.

Winner – Batista

Matthew Michaels: I’m betting on TWO title changes. Khali’s just not right as Champ, and Batista vs. Taker, Edge or Rey is much more believable.

Winner – DAVE

Andrew Wheeler: Guh. I don’t wanna see this. No one wants to see this. If you are seriously jacked up about Khali/Batista, I want you to seriously reevaluate your life. Alright, this is the best main event Smackdown can currently offer and it makes sense to make the most of the situation. Khali is an impressive looking guy and he is not someone that Vince has to worry about gaining fan support. Batista is again the default guy with the losses of Edge and Taker. They are two marquis names fighting for the main belt on their show so you really can’t complain. Will the match suck? Sure. It’ll have a lot of nerve pinches and claw holds, but what else could they do? Next month Taker will be back to carry the load. I also don’t think that Khali’s going to drop the title because Vince cannot pass up the chance to have Rey take the title of Khali at Survivor Series. Fuck Hogan/Andre, Rey versus Khali is the new David versus Goliath. By the way, in a sick little dig at TNA, I want to point out that Summerslam will do more than half a million buys with THIS as one of its main event, yet a show with Angle/Joe will maybe get twenty thousand buys.

Winner: The Mediocre at Best Khali

Vinny Truncellito: Tough choice here. As recently as one month ago, long-term planning did not call for Big DAVE to carry the strap. Are they keeping Khali strong to eventually lose to Undertaker, whose title reign was cut short due to injury? I’ll guess yes, as both world titles don’t change hands on the same night.

Winner – The Great Khali

ECW Championship
John Morrison vs C.M. Punk

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be Chris Benoit vs C.M. Punk? Wow, that put a downer on things. Maybe we should institute a word filter, so ‘Chris Benoit’ comes up as ‘black forest gateaux’ or such. Anyway. The ECW title. Mmm, yeah. I care so much about that item. Please sign me up to your mailing list for further information. It’s even more interesting now that they’ve run out of would-be headline acts like Big Show or Lashley and have no other option but to lob the belt on some newbie, make him look even newbier, and hope for the best. What’s funny is that we’re still supposed to pretend that this is the third world title and that ECW is more than a TV show dedicated to what in years gone by would compose the European Title division. Do they keep the title on Jonathan, carry on regardless and figure out something better to do some other time, maybe? Do they finally cave in and put the title on Punk, then do their best to annoy the internet by jobbing him out when the ratings don’t change one iota? If any of you care about the answers to such questions then please introduce sharp metallic objects to your face. At great velocity. Several times.

Winner – JOHNNY STORM

John Morrison vs C.M. Punk
Mark Allen: Punk has to win this so he doesn’t look like a choke artist. He is only thing left on ECW that personifies a little bit of the old ECW and would be nice to have him be the standard bearer for a little while. Plus theres that ready made feud with Viscera coming up.

Winner – Punk

Danny Cox: Morrison has really grown stale and boring ever since getting the feathered hair and losing the Nitro gimmick. Give the title to Punk finally and let him feud with Burke, Monty (if he ever comes back), or Thorn.

Winner and NEW Champ – C.M. Punk

Raffi Shamir: Of the three championship matches on the card, this should be the best. Punk and Morrison have shown a few weeks ago that they’re capable of putting a good match together, and they have to top their TV match with this one. In two years, I can see both guys holding a “real” championship, on Raw or Smackdown. Think of the IC title match between Triple H and The Rock from SummerSlam 1998, and where the two participants were two years later – Punk and Morrison can achieve the same thing by 2009. It’s time for Punk to win here, after two straight defeats on PPV. He’s already the top face in ECW, now it’s time to make him the top guy there. Morrison can handle the loss just fine.

Winner – C.M. Punk

Matthew Michaels: Could it be THREE title changes? Ya know what? Summerslam needs something special, aside from Rey and Hunter’s returns, so I say yes.

Winner – CM Punk

Andrew Wheeler: My comments on this match are so redundant you might as well look at what I said in the last Roundtable. Look, the WWE dropped the ball with Punk so many times that I’m beginning to think that they just watched 24/7 and saw how they buried DDP and are deciding to replicate that. Punk needs to win the f*cking title. ECW is a meandering, aimless show with a cast smaller then most sitcoms. At least give Punk the belt. Besides, there are more heels on the show then faces and they can all be credible future threats. You got Burke, Cor Von, Viscera and even Kevin Thorne, not to mention another go-round with Morrison. Hopefully this match steals the show like Hart/Perfect all those years ago. Screw those hopes, I just wish Morrison doesn’t blow every big spot.

Winner: If Punk Loses, We Riot

Vinny Truncellito: Punk’s been chasing hard, but what happens to Morrison if he loses here? A long series of rematches that keep the feud alive? Works for me, but I can’t see it. If Punk wins, Burke will want a title shot against the new champ, and Dreamer has been claiming lately he wants one more ECW title run (a nice face vs. face feud with respect in the offing would be nice between Punk and Dreamer). Plus Big Daddy V is waiting in the wings, so I believe Morrison will drop down the card hard when he loses the title. Therefore, he retains here through some manner of chicanery and escapes with the belt until Punk’s next opportunity.
Winner – John Morrison (or Punk via DQ)

My Prediction – No title change

King Booker vs Triple H

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be D-Generation X vs Rated RKO? Then Shawn went and made Jeebus mad by not talking about cocks (or by talking about cocks… there are a lot of grey areas with him) and so he smited him down with the smiteful force of smiteous smiting powers. Then Edge had to get his teeth transplant so his tongue might stay inside his mouth, so he was out. Then Randy had to stride out into the world alone and prove himself worthy of being bested by the Hs, so that left the Hs needing someone else to beat. And when you need someone to put yourself over so that you can feel better… and you’re white… well, there is a certain ‘type’ of people… a certain ‘kind’… a ‘sort’ that don’t get to be royalty… Okay, so it’s been four years and five months but it still pisses me off, okay? Expect more of the same. T’Challa 0, Thor 2.

Winner – THE WHITE GUY

Mark Allen: Hmmm…Triple H’s return, against a guy like Booker…I just hope he doesn’t make Booker lie there for an hour and a half after a Pedigree like he did last time.

Winner – The H’s

Danny Cox: Trips and Bookah had a good twenty minute match back at Wrestlemania 19 and while I doubt they’ll get that kind of time again, it should be a fun match. Booker wouldn’t be hurt by a loss here unless they try and take his crown away from him because he needs to stay as the King. And Trips isn’t going to lose after being out for months.

Winner – Triple Haaitch

Raffi Shamir: The match isn’t important. It’s all about Triple H’s return. All that matters is that he’ll goo out, get the cheers and bury King Booker. I wouldn’t be surprised if Triple H’s entrance will last 10 minutes while the match will only get 3. People seem really excited about the return, I guess they’ve already forgotten Triple H. He was bland and mediocre before he was hurt, and I don’t see this changing any time soon. It will be interesting to see what shape he’s in though. Will he have the roided upper-body he groomed for so long or did the wellness policy deflate him. No matter what he looks like, he’ll get cheered, make Booker his bitch, get the pop he loves, and turn heel in a couple of months after the audience gets tired of him.

Winner – Triple H

Matthew Michaels: Duh.

Winner – HHH

Andrew Wheeler: If I thought the main event was telegraphed Look, it makes sense for Hunter to go over Booker in his return. It couldn’t be Kennedy because we know where that’s going and they need him fresh. It couldn’t be Carlito because that’s not big enough. It couldn’t be Umaga since the belt wouldn’t be on the line. Booker can take the loss and it won’t hurt his cred. Plus, this has been a well built little feud. Booker takes umbrage to the use of the name King and he goes after Lawler, who is infinitely over. The fans now hate Booker enough to want to see him get his ass kicked and even after that happens, Booker will be over as a heel.

Winner: HaHaHa

Vinny Truncellito: There’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that the “King of Kings” will return to a huge ovation and score the big win over King Booker, who once again gets to eat a Pedigree at one of the big four.

Winner – HHH

Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be Rey Mysterio vs Vince McMahon? Then Vince decided to die and have a kid instead. And for some inexplicable reason it seems that Rey and Chavo have both been pestering people about continuing their feud. In normal circumstances this would be a good thing, since it does show continuity and could perhaps elevate their feud into something epic. However, recent months have been anything but normal circumstances for these two guys. Why fight against the tide of goodwill so much? Why would any fan that knows even the slightest bit about the personal relationships of these guys want to boo Chavo after all he’s been through with Eddie and now with Benoit? These two should not be fighting, or at least not straight away. They could still have shown continuity by having them explain that they have patched up their differences because of recent tragic events. Doesn’t need to be anything more specific than that. Have them form a tag team and challenge Deuce & Domino for the belts. I remembered who the WWE Tag Team Champions were! Yay! They’re so ludicrously short of teams on Smackdown now that they’ve had to resort to teaming the US title contenders and doing a mini-feud with Batista just so the champions can have something to do. Oh, well. Maybe they can just talk about how Chris is burning in hell and Vickie has stolen Dominik so that she can prevent Rey from getting Eddie’s estate while Chavo sleeps with Kevin Sullivan to win Nancy’s assets. That sounds par for the course.

Winner – REY REY

Mark Allen: I like that this match was also held on last year’s SummerSlam as well. I’m sure Rey will win easily and Chavo will go back to being hidden in the cruiserweight division again.

Winner – Rey Rey

Danny Cox: Ok, cuz Rey is really going to lose his first match back.

Winner – Rey Mysterio

Raffi Shamir: Another match that doesn’t matter. WWE did a good thing by keeping both Triple H and Rey Myserio off TV until SummerSlam. Still, both matches are pointless because the outcome is clear. Of course, it’s no surprise that Triple H’s a return is a bigger deal than Mysterio’s. But at least this match should be better.

Winner – Rey Mysterio

Matthew Michaels: Duh
Winner – Rey

Andrew Wheeler: Foregone conclusion #3. At least this should be a hell of a match. It sucks that Chavo wasn’t allowed to capitalize on taking Rey out, though. Then again, what could they have done with Chavo? MVP has taken off and no one would believe a Chavo world title run, so I guess he’s just sort of back where he belongs. Ah well, Rey’ll crush him then it’s back to trying to beat a midget (but enough about Jamie Noble).

Winner: That guy who’s jumping out the sky who wears the mask out

Vinny Truncellito: Rey’s big return is not as easy to predict as Triple H’s. It would be very interesting for Chavo to get a win here and “re-injure” Mysterio’s leg, leading to a more developed feud between them through Survivor Series. This would really help bring some excitement to Friday nights along the way, but will they have the nerve to “disappoint” the fans during Rey’s re-debut? Here’s hoping

Winner – Chavo Guerrero

Intercontinental Title
Umaga vs Carlito vs Ken McMahon

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam was going to be Umalga vs Jackass? Then it turned out that Jackass meant involving jackasses and nobody could be arsed with that, so it was turned into Umagoa vs Jeff Hardy. Then it turned out that – OMG SHOCK INTRAWEBS XCLUSV – Jeff Hardy was unwell, so Umabaka went from NAYSAMOA to YAYSAMOA and had nobody to shine his shiny thing at. Thankfully, nobody cared about Carlito so they could just add him at the last minute. Then Kennedy turned out to have no feud lined up because he broke his artery or something and Raw already had fifty-three other heels, so he got lumped in there too. Now we have the friendliest cannibal in all the kingdom fighting a guy whose biggest talent is his haircut and a guy whose biggest talent is repeating himself. Also: Santito Mozzarella, who somehow only started to get over when he got rid of this title. By 2007 they really should just go the whole hog and turn the Intercontinental Title into an intentional joke. It’s the belt that nobody wants and the reigning champion constantly strives to get rid of it, though of course nobody will pin him on purpose. The only trouble is that it would logically wind up with a perpetual reign for Eugene as he’s the only one dumb enough to be duped into holding it. But, swerve, logic has no power here! Denied!

Winner – HAPPYSAMOA

Mark Allen: A real toss-up here. I don’t know where the booking is going for the Intercontinental Title, so I’ll just Umaga retains to build to some sort of rematch between a combination of these guys in September.

Winner – Umaga

Danny Cox: Ok now get Umaga back into the main event picture. Possibly a feud with Orton? Nahhh! But take the IC title off of him and I think this is where Kennedy finally starts his ascent upward. He has had some unfortunate accidents taking him down a notch every time he gets something good feud with Batista, MITB the Kennedy era starts here!

Winner and NEW Champ – MISTAH Kennedy Kennedy

Raffi Shamir: Damn you Jeff Hardy. A few weeks ago I was chatting to some friends and gave him credit for turning his life around and then he goes and becomes the problem child again. I’d rather see Hardy face Umaga than this triple threat match. Kennedy needs this. After Wrestlemania he had a clear direction, announcing he’ll cash in the MITB contract at next year’s Wrestlemania, but since his injury he just hangs around, doing nothing significant. People seem to buy the rumors that he’s going to be revealed as Vince’s son, but the interaction between them kind of makes me think it’s a swerve. So I’ll give him the IC title to focus on instead of Vince’s genes. I think it’s a better trade.

Winner – Kennedy

Matthew Michaels: Hmm… I’m thinking this would be a pretty good way to get the title on Kennedy and not hurt Umaga. Kennedy pins Carlito.

Winner – Kennedy

Andrew Wheeler: Weird, weird match. Look, face Umaga with the IC title might be fun, so I could see them keeping it on him and letting him whoop on Carlito for a few more months. I could also see Carlito getting the belt so that he could feud with Jeff Hardy. I don’t think Ken McMahon’s going to get it because he needs to be unencumbered for his upcoming storyline and the IC title is a step down. I’ll say Umaga holds it until Carlito can pry it away only to drop it to Cody.

Winner: Umaga

Vinny Truncellito: Umaga’s just starting to get over big-time due to Santino’s annoying, smarmy character. If they take the strap from him now, it would have to be to move him up the card, and if my prediction of Orton taking the gold is true, and with HHH returning and HBK not too far behind, I don’t see a lot of room at the top of the RAW mountain for the Samoan Bulldozer. So my instincts are that Umaga retains, but something tells me Kennedy’s about to snare himself a little mid-card gold.

Winner – Kennedy

Tri-Branded Diva Battle Royal
(all of them except Candice, winner gets a title shot)

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam had f*ck all to do with vaj? Some things never change.

Winner – SOME KIND OF VAJ

Mark Allen: RAW’s booking made it look Beth Phoenix was the dominant woman to beat in the battle royal. Sounds good to me.

Winner – Beth Phoenix

Danny Cox: Is someone with some actual wrestling ability going to win this? And what happens if a chick from ECW or Smackdown wins, do they get drafted to RAW or do they take the title with them? So many questions, so little care.

Winner – Beth Phoenix

Raffi Shamir: The hottest feud on WWE is MVP vs. Matt hardy. So naturally these two are bumped off the PPV in order to make room for a cat fight. I’ll just go with the first name that pops into my mind as the winner:

Winner – Beth Phoenix

Matthew Michaels: Candice needs something fresh, and the newest lady on RAW is Beth Phoenix, so let’s go with her. Oh, and no, no one from Smackdown is winning this match.

Winner – The Glamazon

Andrew Wheeler: The match of the night for sure. The belt’s not going to Smackdown but at least this match let’s McCool and Victoria wrestle someone other then each other or Torrie. I wish Mickie would win this thing and be the crazy-hot heel that she used to be, but we all know where this thing is going.

Winner: Glamazon Beth “Stop calling her Jillian Hall, JR” Phoenix

Vinny Truncellito: Beth Phoenix seems the obvious choice, but Mickie James declared her allegiance last week – to the gold, not Candice. So Mickie would be a good choice as well.

Winner – Mickie James

Kane vs Finlay

Iain Burnside: Hey, remember when the main event for SummerSlam took place in the UK? Not in Ireland though, never in Ireland. Those tattie-munchers just wallow in their own ferment and punch other people’s wives, so how the hell could they have let Diana Hart loose there? With that boyish face she would have been strung-up quicker than a priest using a condom. Oh, and how about in 1998 when SummerSlam was held in Hell? Kane got hammered and fell asleep in a dumpster, having unsettling dreams about Billy Gunn putting Billy Gunn parts in his vicinity. Then he woke up in a panic and used the diesel-fuelled powers of dark magick dentistry to flame-fart his way to freedom. After that he and Mankind went out on the piss again and won the pub quiz. The winning question was, “How many times will Iain Burnside take a dump on the 24th August 2007?” His prize should be on the way to him by the time this is online. He should thank me. It bleeds. By the way, did they really start another Kane feud over a cup of coffee getting spilled? I certainly, sure-as-sugar hope they did. I demand amusing vignettes in which Kane plays Frasier, Finlay becomes Niles and Hornswoggle can do a passable impression of Daphne. Lob in a big lump of concrete as Paul Bearer to play Marty, a tranny from the docks as Roz and Brian from Family Guy as Eddie and we’d be set for WWE Brand IV. Oh, my. Corazon.

Winner – KELSEY GRAMMER, A.K.A. KANE

Mark Allen: Not really interested in this at all and I don’t see where either man will go after this match so I’ll just say Kane wins because he’s got cool pyro.

Winner – Kane

Danny Cox: Interesting match and could be a really good strong-man match. I hope this doesn’t turn into some kind of squash for Kane because I think him and Finlay could put on an enjoyable 10-12 minute match. I hope this puts Kane back up into the main event though against whomever wins the World Title match which would unfortunately be Khali.

Winner – Kane

Raffi Shamir: How long has it been since Chris Jericho poured coffee on Kane? If it’s less than seven years Jim Cornette is going to be pissed. But at least it gets Finlay a PPV paycheck, even if he loses.

Winner – Kane

Matthew Michaels: Seems like being ‘naturally big’ is the new black, which explains Big Daddy V’s push, so I go with Mr. Jacobs here.

Winner – Kane

Andrew Wheeler: And here’s your filler for the lack of MVP/Hardy. Both guys are veterans who deserve a slice of the PPV pie so I can’t complain too much. It’s going to be pretty forgettable but at least it can separate the debuts of Rey and Hunter enough for the fans to regain some energy. Finlay can always lose and keep his heat, but so can Kane. Neither guy is going anywhere after this match anyway, so let’s just give it to Kane for laying down for Khali.

Winner: Kane

Vinny Truncellito: Leave this one on SmackDown!, please! Finlay could use the win, and although I’d love to see him exploit the rib injuries, it’s unlikely he’ll be allowed to score a victory over the Big Red Machine.

Winner – Kane

That’s all the pick for this year’s WWE SummerSlam. Will any of them be right? Who knows
