JR: “Marcus is doing the right thing…”

News

In his latest blog entry, Jim Ross talks about CM Punk possibly having a major role at No Mercy in Chicago, whether or not he would put Randy Orton’s win over Chris Benoit on an Orton DVD and more. Here’s one interesting line:

I doubt if the WWE would ever consider switching to the “Catch Wrestling” the late Karl Gotch perfected. I think the WWE is simply concerned with making their present product better and continuing to evolve sports entertainment. Gotch was one tough man, no doubt about it.

I point this out, as I just finished reading Dave Meltzer’s obituary/bio of Gotch in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and it was quite a great read. Highly recommended.

In another blog entry that I don’t believe we reported on yet, JR talks about working with Tazz, the Dean Douglas gimmick and much more. Here’s a comment on Monty “Marcus Cor Von” Brown’s recent WWE absense that we really haven’t heard much about:

I am aware of the personal, family issues Marcus Cor Von is addressing at this time and admire him for his allegiance to his family. However, for us to discuss, wouldn’t be the right thing to do in my opinion. Trust me when I tell you, Marcus is doing the right thing and will hopefully be able to return to the WWE sooner than later.

Whatever personal issues Cor Von is dealing with, we wish him the best and hope he’s back soon.
