More on Suspensions: Bucci Release, The Rock Interview

News

PWInsider.com is reporting that Mike Bucci (Simon Dean, Nova in original ECW) was let go today as a result of the Signature Pharmacy growth enhancing drug scandal. Word is, WWE management felt as though Bucci would be the sacrificial lamb, showing that things are being done now that names are being named.

Bucci hasn’t been on the active roster for over a year, as he took over Tommy Dreamer’s job in management as Head of Talent Relations after Dreamer returned to full time roster. Because he dealt with Signature Pharmacy while he was on the roster, ad Bucci still been active talent, it would be assumed that he would only receive the one month suspension, just like everyone else.

Also, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was interviewed by Fox Sports:
“Clearly, there has to be an aggressive educational program put in place,” he said. “These guys have to be armed with the knowledge and understanding of how bad these drugs are and the dangers of mixing these drugs with the lifestyle they lead.” Johnson said he used steroids entering his freshman year at the University of Miami, but not as a pro wrestler. “When I got into the wrestling business, I never cared about being the biggest guy. I just wanted to be the most entertaining.”

UPDATE: PWTorch is reporting that at least one top wrestler listed in the internet pharmacy story is not going to be suspended by WWE. This is said to be due to the wrestler previously coming clean about buying drugs online and having already served a suspension for it.
