WWE Wellness Policy Updates & Bob Holly Retire?

Archive

PWInsider is reporting that Bob Holly is about to retire as an active wrestler. He recently underwent elbow surgery but is still having difficulties with his arm, including nerve problems. He had been slated to return to action on the Smackdown brand but now may not return at all. Holly has been with WWE since December 1993.

Stephanie McMahon and John Laurinaitis met with WWE talent prior to yesterday’s Smackdown/ECW tapings in Cincinatti. They informed the wrestlers that new clauses have been added to the company’s Wellness Policy. They will soon begin testing for marijuana, with fines of at least $1000 for positives – though no suspensions will be given. Anti-estrogen drugs will also be tested for and those found to be using them will be suspended. These are used to offset the effects of heavy steroid and HGH use. Also, any new hirees will have to pass a full Wellness test before beign offered a WWE contract.

Also, conspicuous by their absence from the Terre-Haute house show on the 1st September were King Booker, Ken Kennedy and Umaga. All three were listed in the recent internet pharmacy story and may well be among the 10 superstars suspended by WWE.
