The following was posted over the weekend on NWAWrestling.com:

San Juan, Puerto Rico (September 1, 2007) – In a heated battle, “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce captured the vacant NWAâ„¢ Worlds Heavyweight Championship in a match against tournament finalist “Shooter” Brent Albright. The match did not end without controversy as assigned IWA Official Jose Vasquez had been previously eliminated by a inadvertent closeline from Albright causing Special Enforcer “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson to assume in ring referee duties. The match ended after Albright superplexed Pearce from the top rope, and both men’s feet became entangled. Danielson counted three and called for the bell, although it was unclear whose shoulders Danielson had counted down. Upon taking the belt from NWAâ„¢ Executive Director Robert K. Trobich, fans in attendance seemed certain that Danielson would hand the “famous 10 lbs of gold” to Albright, instead he awarded the title to Pearce and informing Albright that it was in fact his shoulders that were down. In the end, Pearce and Manager C. Edward Vanderpyle started celebrating and Vanderpyle gave us this comment:

“There’s a hurricane outside. Its hot. Its nasty and none of that matters cause we didn’t come to this island for a vacation. We came to get the job done and thats what we did. Destiny has been achieved.”

Full interviews with Danielson, Albright and Pearce will be published at
