WWE.com today announced the release of former ECW World Heavyweight Champion The Sandman.
WWE has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar and ECW Original Sandman as of September 11. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
According to PWInsider, “within the company, the release had been expected over the last 24 hours.” WrestlingObserver.com noted earlier today that Sandman had injured his leg last night during his match with Santino Marella, but was okay. You could clearly see him limping around during the show-ending Vince McMahon segment.
