In a case that has stirred the hearts of no one, Floyd Landis’ appeal was denied by a panel of arbitrators today, meaning he’ll have to serve a 2 year ban and forfeit his Tour de France title.
Landis had been claiming the urine sample that test positive for artificial testosterone was tainted at the lab, and that the lab workers may in fact be untrained monkeys. Landis’ only remaining hope is an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In a statement about today’s ruling Landis said “I am innocent, and we proved I am innocent.” Really Floyd? I know 2 out of 3 arbitrators who would disagree with you.
