More on John Cena’s Injury

Following up on this morning’s story about John Cena’s possible injury, reports from around the Internet Wrestling Community seem to confirm this as a true story rather than a WWE.com angle.

WrestlingObserver.com says that it is “believed to have been an injured pec in tonight’s match with Mr. Kennedy on the hip toss spot that opened their main event match on Raw tonight in Cleveland.” This jibes with PWInsider’s earlier report, and with Cena talking to the ref just after the move and using his left arm rather than his right for the rest of the match.

PWTorch.com also notes that Jim Ross “immediately speculated that Cena had injured his shoulder” after the arm drag.

Dave Scherer at PWInsider.com reports that “WWE is proceeding right now as if John Cena tore his right pectoral muscle” and that today’s medical examination in Alabama will pretty much determine what happens next.

Also on PWInsider was a report from a fan who attended the show, who said, “As soon as Raw went off the air – medical people came down to check on Cena. Meanwhile, Orton seemed to be walking gingerly. I guess the RKO on the table stung him a little. Cena stayed down till Orton was gone. Then he got up and headed out. He did not move his right arm at all – clutching it to his chest. He slowly made his way up the ramp with the doc, the trainer and a number of refs with him. He stopped – raised his left arm to salute the crowd and headed for the back.”
