2007/2008 TV Season Ratings Report – Week 2 (10/1/07 – 10/7/07)

News

The second week of any new TV season is more than likely the week that you judge the entire season on. Premiere week is watched by a lot more people, so obviously the numbers for every television show are a bit inflated. That was true again this year as pretty much every show took a loss in ratings this week. But it didn’t really affect the overall standings. The same shows and networks are up top again. Here is how the week went down…

ABC continue to dominate this week. CBS was never that close to them. CBS did dominate Thursday and Friday nights, but it’s really getting hurt by its sub-par Sunday night performance. ABC once again had 3 of the top 4 shows this week and that was enough for them to take this week. It will be interesting to see how this plays out when the “reruns” start coming back around.

Dancing with the Stars is back on top this week. CSI took a big hit and fell back to earth and finished in second. You will also notice that no new shows made the top ten this week. However, Pushing Daisies made its series premiere and it tied for #1 of all the new shows with another ABC show on the same night, Private Practice. That show should drop next week, but for now ABC has some of the highest-rated new shows on television right now. Stay tuned as always, though…

Sir Linksalot: Television News

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
