~ Due to QB Jake Delhomme having elbow surgery and being palced on IR, the Panthers went out and agreed to terms with 43 year-old veteran Vinny Testaverde. He will back up new starter David Carr with Matt Moore as third string.
~ The Bucs lost RB Cadillac Williams a few weeks ago for the season and now their back-up RB Michael Pittman is out close to six weeks. Playing with a skeleton crew in the backfield, they signed former Raider RB Zach Crockett.
QB Chris Simms was also placed on IR; ending his season before taking a single snap.
~ QB Matt Leinart ended up out for the season after being placed on IR with an broken collarbone so back-up/now starter Kurt Warner needed a back-up of his own. Former Titans/Niners QB Tim Rattay.
