News on Bret Hart, Harry Smith, Nick Hogan, Booker T & More

There’s a great interview with Bret Hart about his upcoming autobiography in the Calgary Herald, where he talks about his career, life on the road (including admitting several affairs) and how he tape recorded his memoirs over the years. “Those tapes turned out to be a blessing, especially as weird as things got,” says Hart to the paper. “Things just kept getting bigger. When Owen died I was starting to have those tapes transcribed. I started reviewing the details of the journey and I thought ‘This whole thing is surreal.’ And I knew I had the truth. A lot of wrestler’s books . . . as much as they think they have the truth, they just don’t remember it. There’s been too many beers and too many (damaged) memories where it’s not quite there anymore. . . . And a lot of the guys aren’t very honest. They only tell the good stuff.”

Hart’s nephew Harry Smith worked a dark match before RAW tonight, and got a big reaction once the crowd realized he was the British Bulldog’s son. According to WrestlingObserver.com, an idea was going around for him to debut at tomorrow’s Smackdown tapings.

Also UK-related, Andrew Whitaker, head of WWE’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, was interviewed by the UK Sun.

In other news, Booker T’s official Web site no longer has a WWE logo or a link to contact WWE for media requests. WrestlingObserver.com notes that Booker’s representatives had been telling indie promoters looking to book him that he’s with WWE, but are now saying wait 30 days and we’ll talk. He’s believed to be in the final 30 days of a 60 day Wellness Program suspension, and there have been strong rumors of him telling WWE he’s quitting.

Speaking of quitting WWE, Krissy Vaine & Ryan O’Reilly talk about leaving WWE here.

It looks like Nick Hogan’s friend who was hospitalized after their car crash will spend the rest of his life in a nursing home (here’s a story on People.com). According to TMZ, Graziano can only open and close his eyes.

The Batista autobiography will be released tomorrow.

PWInsider has reported that CNN was following Punk around for a documentary on about the wrestling business.

Jessica Hatch, recently ousted from the Diva Search, was interviewed by James Guttman’s WorldWrestlingInsanity.com, saying “I was in total shock, to be honest with you. I just was really getting myself out there and doing everything I can to let the fans know who I am and just the type of person I am altogether. Because it’s one thing to look at pictures, you know, and us running around and our bodies and this and that. But it’s another to know us individually, that’s hard to do and that’s what I was trying to make happen .by traveling to events and trying to pass out flyers to promote myself and try to talk to people. I was very surprised to have this happen. I’m still all in and still fighting to the end until I’m the next WWE Diva.”
