ADULT SWIM PRESENTS TRAIL OF DEAD AND DETHKLOK NATIONAL COLLEGE TOUR

Adult Swim, the late-night sister network of Cartoon Network which showcases animation and live action for adults, announces a 12-stop college tour beginning Oct. 29 with two of the country’s top rock acts, …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead and Dethklok. All shows will be free for students and ticket information can be obtained at adultswimpresents.com.

This marks the premiere event for Adult Swim Presents, a series of live entertainment performances. The announcement came to support the release of Dethklok’s new album, Dethalbum, which was released on Sept. 25. This coincides with the greatest most metal band in the world’s DVD release of Metalocalypse season 1, a two-disc DVD, which was released Oct. 2.

Dethklok is the undisputed greatest animated metal band in the galaxy. Created by Brendan Small and Tommy Blacha, their crusades into darkness have been immortalized in Metalocalypse, the animated series available on Adult Swim. This college tour marks the band’s most epic journey where they shall emerge from the brackish pits of darkness to wipe the blood from their mighty axes.

…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead is currently comprised of three core members: Conrad Keely, Jason Reece and Kevin Allen. Formed by Keely and Reece in 1994, Trail of Dead has delivered 5 albums since and has toured the world extensively, winning over fans with its guitar-laden anthems. With each album, a new generation joins the ever-growing legion of fans across the globe. The band’s most recent album, So Divided, is available at iTunes, Emusic (along with other online outlets) and in stores nationwide.

“We are most metally honored to be able to shred for the minds of the collegiate institutions of the United States of Metal America,” said Brendan Small creator and most metal member of Dethklok. “Their blood will surge in the wake of our destruction.”

SHORT FILMS CREATED FOR TRACKS ON SERJ TANKIAN’S SOLO ALBUM TO BE SCREENED IN MOVIE THEATERS ACROSS THE U.S.
Special Los Angeles screening with Serj Tankian in attendance on Oct. 23 to benefit Axis of Justice

Earlier this year, Serj Tankian—the visionary frontman for multi-platinum rock band System of a Down—asked a collection of video and film directors, painters, and digital artists to each create a video for one of the 12 tracks on his forthcoming solo debut album, Elect the Dead, which will be released on Serjical Strike/Reprise Records on Oct. 23.

The directors involved in the video project include a prestigious array of artists whom Tankian has befriended over the last decade. They include music video director Tony Petrossian (Taking Back Sunday, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold), who shot the video for “Empty Walls,” the first single from Elect the Dead, photographer/video director Greg Watermann (Mudvayne, Lamb of God, Howie Day), Oscar-nominated Puerto Rican playwright and screenwriter Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries), digital artist Roger Kupelian (The Lord of the Rings, Flags of Our Fathers), documentary director Sevag Vrej (System Of A Down, Fair to Midland), short film/music video director Adam Egypt Mortimer (Against Me!, Idiot Pilot) and Beirut-born filmmaker Gariné Torossian (Sparklehorse), among others.

“I asked each of the directors for their visual interpretation of my work,” Tankian explains. “They were asked not to write treatments and that they could make whatever they liked. The results have been overwhelmingly amazing!”

Among the videos posted on Tankian’s website www.serjtankian.com is an animated clip for the song “The Unthinking Majority” by filmmaker/video director Tawd Dorenfeld. Also available for viewing on the website are the videos for “Empty Walls” and “Saving Us”.

To celebrate the artistic collaboration of the music and visual interpretations of Serj Tankian’s solo album, Reprise Records and Serjical Strike, in conjunction with digital cinema/music marketing company D&E Entertainment (www.DandEentertainment.com), will screen the videos of Elect the Dead back-to-back, accompanied by an introduction by Tankian at movie theaters across the nation at 8pm on Monday, Oct. 22. This unique experience on the eve of album release offers fans a preview of Elect the Dead in a premium listening and visual environment. A special screening event on the Oct. 23 album release date will take place in Los Angeles with Tankian in attendance.
