Jersey Judgement: Preview & Prediction’s for JAPW’s 10th Anniversary Show

News

Saturday night, October 27th, Jersey All-Pro Wrestling is getting ready to reach a plateau very few independant promotions have ever reached; a decade of operations. JAPW has transformed a lot over the years, starting as an indy trying to ride the success of ECW with it’s blood-and-guts style of wrestling before slowly evolving into an all around wrestling company with different types of wrestlers and matches on every show. Now, it’s time to see what JAPW has become 10 years after it’s birth, but first Jonathan Kirschner and myself are going to give our thoughts and predictions for the matches!

Danny Demanto vs. ???
Originally scheduled as Demanto vs. Kenny Omega, but unfortunately Omega was forced to cancel, so Demanto decided to issue an open challenge to anyone that’s willing to accept.

JK- I was expecting another great match between Kenny Omega and Demanto. I’m gonna throw a shot in the dark here and say the mystery opponent wins in some kind of upset.

CS- Danny Demanto is being groomed as a JAPW star, and the fans are starting to take a liking to him, so I’d say he wins his match against a mystery opponent. Last year, Demanto knocked himself out against Axl Rotten in his own ‘Hardcore Open Challenge’, so if Axl isn’t busy, I see him coming in and having a rematch against Demanto, only to lose this time around. Heck, if this happens, I bet Danny goes for the same spot that he knocked himself out with, just to play off their last match and show the guts he has.

AJ Styles vs. Frankie Kazarian
AJ Styles wants to take on a worthy opponent, and Frankie Kazarian wants to start building his reputation back up and get into title contention, so these to were paired against each other.

JK- I believe these two have faced off sometime in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and should’ve been a good match. This one should be higher in the card, higher than Devon Storm’s open challenge for sure. Kazarian has been on a roll in pretty much every promotion he’s been wrestling for, but I doubt Styles is gonna do the job to Kazarian. Styles over with the Styles Clash in a solid match.

CS- Frankie Kazarian picks up the win. Kazarian made his ‘return’ last month, breaking away from his ridiculous Kaz character and back to his loveable ‘Best Around’ gimmick. Fat Frank LOVES TNA guys to death, but in this case they’re both TNA guys and Kazarian makes regular appearances and is in line for a push, so he’ll be the one going over in a match that could easy steal the show.

Eddie Kingston vs. Drake Younger
Last month, Eddie Kingston complained that JAPW would refuse to book his friends and family, the BLKOUT stable, so he decided to start a new stable and his first recruit was Slyk Wagner Brown. JAPW realized they need someone to take out Kingston before he starts gaining momentum, so they asked Drake Younger to come and take him out, granting Younger a championship match anytime he wants if he succeeds.

JK- I’m dissapointed I’m not going to this event, and when I found out that Drake Younger was making his JAPW Debut in this event, I only got more angry. This is either going to be a strong style suplex style match with King dominating and Younger pulling the win in the end, or a hardcore match. Either way, I see Younger beating Kingston in his debut match.

CS- Eddie Kingston does whatever it takes to pull out the victory. Kingston just started his own group at the last show, and it’s Younger’s first time in JAPW. This should be a real good match, and Younger will put up a helluva fight, but will most likely fall to the numbers game thanks to Slyk Wagner Brown at ringside. Kingston and Brown need momentum to start getting some heat, so they need the win, but I’d love Younger to come back if he does well.

Ladder Match, NJ State Championship
Grim Reefer(c) vs. Archadia

Archadia voiced his recent frustration at the last show, effectively turning heel in the proccess. Later that night, he attacked Grim Reefer with a ladder, so Reefer & JAPW management granted Archadia a title shot. And of course, it’s a ladder match.

CS- Archadia wins the NJ State title, while I slowly weep on the top of the bleachers. I absolutely love Grim Reefer, but putting that aside, it just doesn’t make sense to have Archadia win. He has no heat on him yet after his heel turn at the last show, even though his promo was surprisingly good, and meanwhile Grim Reefer is an absolute fan favorite that’s having solid matches with everyone he faces. Unfortunately, I see the usual stuff occuring(meaning short-term booking)…but the match will probably be a lot of fun, so that’s a plus. Please Frank, make me be way off with this prediction! Please!

Jay Lethal & Azrieal vs. BLKOUT (Sabian & Ruckus)
BLKOUT is invading, and JAPW needs some saviors, so they looked to the best current tag team they have (since the tag champs are busy doing seperate things) to take them out. The idea is that Lethal & Azrieal’s incentive to help rid JAPW of BLKOUT is that their guaranteed rematch for the tag titles is on the line, meaning if they lose, BLKOUT becomes the number one contneders and Lethal & Azrieal have to work their way up the ladder once again.

CS- Alright, here’s what annoys me; Kingston started his own group last month because JAPW won’t book his friends from BLKOUT. So this month…they book every other member of BLKOUT?! All I ask for is consistency in the booking. Anyway, the actual match should be really solid as both men work well as a team, but since it’s for the number one contendership, I have to pick Lethal and Azrieal as the winners, especially since Ruckus & Sabian could be a one-time deal in JAPW, something that happens a lot in the promotion.

B-Boy -vs- Joker -vs- Bandido Jr. -vs- Matt “M-Dogg20” Cross -vs- Sal Ranauro -vs- Seth Delay
An annual contest for JAPW’s anniversary shows; an scramble style match to determine who the best light heavyweight is. Deranged had to vacate his spot due to moving to Florida, so now Seth Delay has taken his place in the match (thanks to COPKILLA187 of the JAPW board for the update).

CS- I can’t see anyone except B-Boy winning this one, as his retirement tour starts now and ends once December is over (although who knows how long the retirement part lasts). Hopefully Joker impresses and gets brought back, because I love the man’s work and believe he could fill B-Boy’s role in JAPW. Just like last year’s, I expect a very fun and exciting match.

Devon Storm vs. ???
Devon Storm, known better as Crowbar from WCW, returns to a JAPW ring and set up an open challenge to get himself re-aquainted with the roster.

CS- Devon Storm wins his own open challenge. It’s his return to the company, on a night focused around honoring JAPW’s ‘legends’, so I’d say it’s a safe bet that he’ll be winning tonight, especially since a return next month is very possible as Storm is working more and more indy dates. I’m going to guess that his opponent is Kevin Matthews, who accepts the challenge thinking he’s going to beat up an old timer, only to get one-upped by a highly motivated Storm.

Hernandez vs. ???
Hernandez issued an open contract since he has no match booked for the show. About as simple as it gets.

CS- Another open challenge/contract? C’mon, it’s okay to announce matches, especially since I highly doubt any of the mystery people are going to be very satisfying. Hernandez wins, because he has a title shot coming up in the future, and Frank loves TNA talent. I’ve run out of people to pick as mystery opponents, so I’ll just pick Chris Jericho; why not continue to add to the rumor mill of where the superstar is going to show up next?

Rhino vs. Necro Butcher
These two men were set to take on Low Ki in a triple threat match for the JAPW World Heavyweight Championship, but both were removed as the fans demanded to see a different match, so these two got stuck wrestling each other, and neither of them are happy about the decision. As an added bonus, JAPW legend Low Life Louie Ramos is the special guest referee!

JK- Both of these men were originally set for a Triple Threat Match and a chance to face Low-Ki for the JAPW Heavyweight Title. Then, Homicide took both of their places. Look for these men to go on a rampage, but not taking it out on ‘Cide or Ki, but on each other. Lots of blood will be lost in this battle and it will spill around the arena. Rhino will win with a Gore through either a table or onto a guardrail. I can’t wait to see this on DVD already.

CS- Rhino takes out Necro Butcher with the gore…goooore……..GOOOOORE! Let’s face it; Necro has had three matches in JAPW (all being world title matches), and he lost every one of them. I’m so happy he’s not getting ANOTHER title shot, because even though I love Necro, it was just getting ridiculous. Rhino has to take the win since it’s his return to the company after failing to reclaim his title earlier this year, and he’s the next logical person to challenge Ki for the belt, although Necro will surely put up a challenge for the ‘War Machine’. As Jon said, this is going to be a brawl around the building, so I suggest getting ready to stand on your chair or scale the bleachers for the best view!

JAPW Heavyweight Championship
Low Ki vs. Homicide

After squaring off in a tag match last month, these two meet again, but this time it’s in singles action with the most important prize in JAPW on the line! The fans demanded the match, and JAPW management obliged, pitting fellow Strong Style Thug members against one another in what could easily be the best and most important match in JAPW history.

JK- Expect an epic battle here. This isn’t the first time these two have battled for the title, and it probably won’t be the last. I want to see a 30 minute classic between these two with a bunch of stiff kicks and lariats. Homicide will hit the Cop Killa and Ki will kick out. Cide will reverse one of Low-Ki’s move into a 2nd Cop Killa, and Homicide will become the new JAPW Heavyweight Champion.

CS- Low Ki wins, somehow, most likely cleanly. This is a tricky situation, because if Homicide wins (which I doubt), you have a double champion and he has to wrestle twice, or drop a belt, or whatever, which always gets confusing and annoying. If Ki wins clean, he would have merit for a tag title shot, even though he had one at the last show and failed, and we don’t need to see another tag title match involving Ki and ‘Cide so soon. Then there’s the option of a dusty finish, but it’s the main event of JAPW’s biggest show of the year, and it would be a sour note to end the evening on. Finally, there’s the 60 minutes option, but, can the JAPW crowd take a 60 minute match, and are these two willing to go the distance? Tough situation from a booking standpoint, so I’ll just leave that part to Fat Frank while I remain believing that Ki walks out with the belt after an awesome match.

Plus the debut of former WWE tag team Crime Time, Alicia, Nikki Roxx, Sara Del Ray, Kevin Matthews, EC Negro, Havoc & Mac, and so much more!
