Apparently unimpressed with the reception that she received during a charity gig at a UNICEF show in New York on Tuesday, singer Annie Lennox yelled insults at the crowd before giving them the finger for acting “loud and rude”.
According to a witness who later spoke with the New York Post, the former Eurythmics singer was several minutes into her second song, which contained a rather long pause, at which time the audience started clapping and shouting. But the song wasn’t over, and Lennox was less than grateful for the premature praise. “She got ticked, finished the song, then sarcastically said, ‘Thank you for listening’ and gave them the finger,” the witness told reporters. “She said everyone was loud and rude and they should have their five mojitos and ‘go see KC and the Sunshine Band if you want to act that way.'”
Actually, come to think of it, I like some of Annie Lennox’s material, but I rather like mojitos, too, and if one were to combine mojitos with KC and the Sunshine band, it sounds a hell of a lot more entertaining than this concert.
