A Case of the…. Chuck – Episode 1-8

Shows

All right, lets get this confession out of the way. I watched this week’s episode of Chuck for one reason and one reason alone: my undying love and devotion to the ever-beautiful Rachel Bilson. Okay, good, now we can move on…

Don’t get me wrong, I have positively nothing against Chuck. In fact, I’ve heard some great things about the series, and I really did enjoy this episode. Granted, I didn’t know a whole lot about it, so I had to do a little online research into how he’s able to just look at something and get a complete scan providing him with the history of whatever he’s looking at. But once I got past that initial confusion, there were some really funny moments, and with Prison Break going on hiatus until January, I may be willing to give this show a longer-term chance.

But, by God, was Rachel incredibly hot looking or what? And she makes sandwiches! I love sandwiches! Although I did find it odd how a deli doesn’t have something as ordinary as turkey and cheese on its menu, but I guess it was Muenster, so I won’t nitpick too much. I also love how in every one of her roles, she always falls for the Joe Everyman with the dorky personality. Gives us Average Joes some hope. And how adorable was she all episode? Her “I find our vast height difference intriguing” line was really cute. I can just eat her up. Hey, if anybody reading this has any connection with her, send me an e-mail. Help a brother out.

With the fawning out of the way, like I said, I did enjoy the episode and it did have a lot of humorous moments, especially all the stuff with the truth serum. People telling the truth at inopportune times always seems to crack me up. Chuck telling John that his jaw was chiseled by Michelangelo himself had me laughing out loud. I also got a real kick out of the showdown at the hospital, with Chuck admitting that he’s going to give the antidote to his sister, and John confessing that he won’t really shoot him anyway.

Anyway, all in all it’s a really clever show with an interesting premise. And Rachel’s on again next week anyway, so I might as well tune in again. Overall, the show has my recommendation, so check it out.
