Pulse Wrestling’s PPV Report: WWE Survivor Series
By Paul Marshall

Normally this would have been a live coverage, but I forgot that I was working the evening shift tonight. Do not despair, though. I will still provide you with a great recap of Survivor Series. I will be providing my predictions from the Roundtable and by the end of the night, everyone will know how I did. So with that said, let’s get the action started!

Live from Miami, Florida
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Joey Styles, Tazz, Michael Cole, & JBL

Joey Styles and Tazz open up the show, kicking off ECW’s portion of the program. The ECW Championship will be decided in tonight’s opening contest!

ECW World Championship – Champion CM Punk v. John Morrison v. The Miz
Paul’s Prediction: CM Punk

It saddens me that the ECW Title doesn’t even get defended in Extreme Rules, but I guess you can’t please everyone. Anyways, this is Triple Threat Rules, meaning that the champion is at a disadvantage. The bell sounds and all three stars circle the ring. Morrison and Miz work together, cornering Punk in the corner. Punk nails a SUPERKICK to Miz, but Morrison whips Punk to the opposite corner. Punk gets a rollup on Morrison for one, but Morrison catapults Punk into the ropes, but Punk is awesome and he returns a cross body to Miz for two! Nice kick to Morrison and Miz takes a dive outside the ring. Morrison follows suit as Punk nails a through-the-middle-rope dive onto BOTH MEN! CM Punk chants all around as Punk attempts a springboard, but Miz stops it and the double team by Miz and Morrison continue. Morrison has Punk as Miz nails some chest shots. They switch positions and repeat the procedure. Miz dumps Morrison and looks to get a close fall on Punk. The Miz has Punk in a headlock, but when Morrison enters, Miz takes Morrison out again. Punk nails a enzugiri and Morrison nails the low dropkick on Miz, taking him out of the ring. Morrison nails a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo for two! Another pin attempt gets two as well. Morrison gets the Japanese sleeper on Punk, but Punk gets out of it and goes on the attack until Morrison SLAPS the taste out of Punk. Morrison dumps Punk, but Punk holds on but the Miz is there and he pulls on his legs, sending him down in a powerbomb fashion outside the ring.

It’s Morrison and Miz taking each other on right now. Miz gets a front faceplant for two. Middle rope Bronco Buster gets two for Miz! Morrison is at the ropes as Miz charges BLOCKED! Morrison nails a SPLIT-LEGGED CORKSCREW MOONSAULT! That gets two as Punk is back in the match. Punk has Morrison on the ropes. Punk goes up Sunset Flip as Miz catches Morrison and BOMBS him onto the mat! The Miz goes for the reward, but a LOW Dropkick gets Miz onto his back! Punk and Miz battle it out…and Punk has the momentum! Knee lift into a bulldog CONNECTS! The Miz kicks out of that pin attempt! Double Underhook Backbreaker gets another two count for Punk. Morrison gets a handful of Punk’s tights for TWO! Punk gets Morrison up for GTS, but Morrison gets thrown out! The Miz is up and he walks into GO TO SLEEP! Punk retains the title!

Match Rating: ***

A replay of the finish is shown. CM Punk celebrates on the stage. Michael Cole and JBL take over announcing duties. We are reminded of what happened between Matt Hardy and MVP from Smackdown two days ago. Long story short, MVP took Matt Hardy out. Backstage, MVP gets an interview segment.

MVP makes it known that Matt Hardy is unable to walk, so he won’t be competing tonight. He says that he is better than everyone. He’s even better than YOU!

Up next is the 10 Diva Battle Royal. Beth Phoenix comes out and I believe that we will see ten separate entrances. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler get to call the next match. Melina botches her entrance by slipping while doing the splits! That looked painful, but Melina shrugs it off like it didn’t hurt. Melina does it again and gets it right the second time. The faces are looking good tonight!

Beth Phoenix, Leyla, Jillian Hall, Victoria, & Melina v. Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Maria, & Mickie James.
Paul’s Prediction: Beth Phoenix, Leyla, Jillian Hall, Victoria, & Melina

If this gets five minutes, I’ll be surprised. Victoria and McCool start things out. Both divas look to get the advantage, but it seems that McCool owns Victoria in the opening seconds of the match. Torrie gets tag in and Victoria gets a side slam for two! Leyla tags herself in, but Torrie is better than her. Torrie gets a suplex for two. She gets Kelly Kelly into the match and Leyla decides to tag Jillian in. Jillian does her primal scream and gets a handspring elbow BLOCKED by a dropkick to the back. Bridge attempt by Kelly gets two! In the match now is Maria, who does a handspring leg attack. Beth Phoenix tags herself in, unaware to Maria. She nails a tilt-a-whirl slam on Maria and she tags back Leyla. That doesn’t last long as Melina gets involved and nails a leg drop across Maria’s back. She sets Maria up for a rope based attack, but as Melina charges, Maria moves and Melina crotches herself! Maria tags in Mickie James and she takes out Melina! LOU THEZ PRSS on Melina, but Melina gets a little break. It doesn’t last for long as Mickie is ON FIRE! Beth Phoenix tries to stop her, but Michelle and Torrie stops the Women’s Champion! Neckbreaker attempt by Melina is COUNTERED into the “Long Kiss Goodnight”! The Mickie-Kick gets the three!

Winners: Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Maria, & Mickie James

Show Over. See you Monday Night for WWE RAW Live Coverage, here on Pulse Wrestling.

The Inside Pulse
Albeit a slight disappointment, especially during in the main event, Survivor Series did deliver a good Elimination Match, a nice ECW Title bout, and WWE Championship bout. As far for a recommendation, I’d suggest waiting for the DVD to come out, unless you just can’t wait. For the extensive recap you get from me, I feel it was mildly worth the $40, but just barely. The crap was kept to a minimum and the wrestling was acceptable.
