GIANT POODLE PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO DRUNK-DRIVING CHARGES

An attorney representing Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger entered a plea of not guilty to drunk-driving charges that he faced in a Canadian court last Wednesday.

Kroeger (né Chad Turton), a Canadian citizen, will likely appear in court sometime before a verdict is reached, and if found guilty, he faces a maximum sentence of a $600 fine and a one-year suspension on his driver’s license.

The charges stem from an incident in June of 2006, when Kroeger was busted by local police for drag racing in Surrey, British Columbia. He was subsequently charged with driving while impaired and driving while under the influence of alcohol. While the trial began in late July of that year, Kroeger’s legal team was able to buy him a whole year, citing that they “needed more time to look over the police report.”

While their defense was not immediately disclosed to reporters outside of the Surrey courthouse last week, an insider for The Saturday Swindle Sheet was able to attain some EXCLUSIVE info from one of Kroeger’s legal advisers, who revealed, “We’re going to say that it wasn’t actually Chad driving his car like a complete choad, but rather, a giant poodle who had stolen Chad’s car and was driving it like a complete choad after a night of excessive boozing.” Damn poodles… Seems like they’re always up to no good. Oh well, he’s got enough money to afford the fine and a chauffeur.
