December 7, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RING OF HONOR EXPLODES THE YEAR HOME WITH TWO-DAY NEW YORK CITY STAND DECEMBER 29 AND 30 AT THE MANHATTAN CENTER

Two Action-Packed Cards—Taped For Pay-Per-View—Slated For Grand Ballroom

Third ROH Pay-Per-View “Man-Up” Wows ‘Em On iN-DEMAND, TVN & Dish Network

Bristol, PA—Ring Of Honor is closing out 2007 in high (flying) style with two hard-hitting intensely competitive cards slated for The Grand Ballroom of New York City’s famed Manhattan Center—311 West 34th Street—Saturday, December 29 at 7:30 and Sunday, December 30 at 5:00.

On Saturday, which is being taped for a future Pay-Per-View, former World Champion Austin Aries gets his chance for immortality if he becomes the first man in history to regain the ROH World Championship. Of course, current Champion Nigel McGuinness (who won the belt from Morishima in New Jersey Oct. ’07) has other plans.

The ROH World Tag Team Championship will also be on the line Saturday when Jay and Mark Briscoe will defend against the formidable team of Roderick Strong and Rocky Romero. (The Briscoes defeated Naruki Doi and Shingo in Detroit March ’07 to win the belts.)

In the first of two Grudge Matches, Bryan “The American Dragon” Danielson will attempt to tear apart Takeshi Morishima for taking advantage of his injured eye in a previous bout.

The second Grudge Match will pit Claudio Castagnoli against Chris Hero with the stipulation that if Castagnoli loses, he will forced out of ROH. Hero will be accompanied to the ring by his loudmouthed, cigar-chomping, cellphone-talking manager Larry Sweeney and his entourage of Bobby Dempsey and Sara Del Ray. Expect fireworks.

Many more grapplers are being inked for Saturday.

On Sunday, the bell will ring at a special time of 5:00. The headlining bout will be a special four-way World Championship Elimination bout between the winner of Saturday’s McGuinness/Aries tussle against Chris Hero, Bryan Danielson (the former Champion who held the belt from September ’05 to December ’06) and a surprise combatant yet to be announced!

Jack Evans takes on The Necro Butcher.

Jay and Mark Brisco will tangle with the team of Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black with a stipulation yet to be announced.
