Miguel Tejada has been traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Houston Astros for 5 players, outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate and third baseman Mike Costanzo.
Tejada is a former American League MVP. He hit .296 with 18 homers and 81 RBIs over 133 games for the Orioles last year. Over his 11-year career, Tejada has a .287 average 258 homers and 1,033 RBIs.
No word yet as to whether he’ll play shortstop or be moved to 3rd base.
