Mitchell Report Released Today, Sends Shockwaves Through MLB

Former Senator George Mitchell will be releasing the 300-page result of his steroid investigation today at 2pm. There is already rampant speculation about who will be named, with some sources boldly claiming it will be a bad day in the Bronx.

While we don’t really want to speculate much here (not that we have much to get sued for) we’d love to hear your thoughts on the forum.

Update – 1:15 pm: A preview of a list was posted and quickly pulled from NBC’s website. NBC pulled it due to “discrepancies reported by Major League Baseball”.

Update 2:45 pm: Many of the names on the earlier leaked report were incorrect. The pulled list, however, did name Andy Pettitte and Roger Clemens as widely reported. Also on the list: Eric Gagne, Mo Vaughn, Paul Lo Duca, Todd Hundley. Important names on the first list that weren’t on the second: Jeff Bagwell and Albert Pujols. Updated list follows.

After scanning the report (click for downloadable PDF file of the full document), the question follows: who the heck pays for illegal drugs with personal checks? I guess jocks really don’t get any smarter. MLB.com’s coverage of the Mitchell Report can be found here.
