Richly Deserved: Celebrity Apprentice Episode 2

Shows

First off, props to Tim Urban on his interview with Tiffany Fallon. Just one follow up question …

Is Nicole available?

Moving on.

So Omarosa and Carol return to the suite with Tiffany having been fired for being rather boring on television. Piers and Omarosa jab a bit. He says she’s now “mixing it with the big boys” and feels sorry for her.

Stephen visits her mother to present the $69,000 cheque for her foundation for breast cancer research. But then its down to business. The task is to do a 30-second ad for the “Pedigree Adoption Drive”. The teams are asked to choose their project manager. Nely steps up for the women. Gene steps up for the guys. He says he’s ruthless. He’d even fire Trump. The winning project manager gets $20,000 for charity.

Nely gets to work leading her girls in meditation and hand holding. Omarosa excludes herself from that “B—s—” They go to the society and learn about it. Basically the organization promotes dog adoption. Gene decided to immediately go to the studio rather than meet with the officials. They bicker about the concept of the ad. Trace, Stephen, and Gene throw ideas back and forth. The idea they come up with is to have a lonely dog in the arms of Lennox. Ivanka walks in to Gene’s dismay. Piers starts to explain the concept. Gene didn’t seem to be impressed with Ivanka and makes what seems to be a sexist comment. I guess he’s never watched the show. No one disses Ivanka!

Time to film. Lennox Lewis is in a chair holding a dog. Piers and Stephen still argue about the scenes. They had trouble getting the street clear so Lennox can walk the dog. Gene ordered them back inside the studio. Stephen disagreed but followed orders.

Omarosa decided not to get involved in the creative end of the women’s commercial. Nely, a former Telemundo producer and executive drove the entire production. Unfortunately she had trouble with Nadia who had trouble executing any of her assignments. Marilu used her skills to help Nely with the writing and directing. We’re never really made aware of their concept.

Trace did the voiceover with his deep, southern drawl. Gene said it sounded like the voice of God. Gene ordered everyone back to the suite while he and Stephen went to work in the editing room. What a mess these guys are.

The girls are in the editing room. They quibble over the appearance of the dogs in the shot. They had three dog stories, each one being adopted in the end. And at the end, Marilu voiceovers at the end. They get a visit from the executive from Macy’s introduced earlier. Nely does a much better job explaining the concept to him as Gene did to Ivanka.

The guys are joined by Tito, Piers, and the rest of the boys. They wanted to see what was going on. Stephen and Gene chase them out. Tito felt they were being left out of the process. Tito was p.o.’d

Time to see the ads. The Rob, Pedigree executive and Trump watched the women’s commercial which we really only saw a snippet of. The guys are next. Gene uses “The Art of War” to explain why he didn’t meet with Pedigree before the commercial. Tito was happy with the commercial.

The winning commercial will be run during the Westminster Kennel Show telecasts. The teams are called in for the result. First, Ivanka explained her conversation with Gene. Omarosa chimed in. Gene apologized.

Now we see the whole commercials. The guys low-fived during the women’s ad. Omarosa laughed during the guys’ ad. Omarosa called Lennox ‘hot’. Rob had words for both of them but Hydra (the guys team) wins. The key was using Trace’s voice which was more compelling than the dog stories Empresario were trying to convey, and for using Lennox who is still a recognized figure in his sport even though he is retired. The girls stay in the boardroom.

The winning $20,000 goes to Gene’s charity (and the house charity of any Mark Burnett production), the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Boardroom time. They were concerned about the voiceover and not enough time for editing. People know Marilu’s face but not her voice. I couldn’t agree more. They also did a radio and internet ad which weren’t asked for so why waste time on them? Trump also credited Lennox for his acting. Trump also chastized Nely for talking too fast at the presentation.

Jennie would fire Nadia. Carol would also fire Nadia. Nely brought back Nadia and Carol. No one understands why Carol was brought back.

So the three go back in. Nely felt she was too ambitious and felt she should take responsibility for her actions. Trump said Marilu should have been brought back instead of Carol. Carol said Nadia could not lead a team. Trump questioned Nadia’s competitiveness. Trump again questioned why Nely didn’t bring back Marilu. Nadia really had a lot of trouble speaking and defending herself in the boardroom. You couldn’t even understand what she was saying. Trump said Nadia couldn’t be seen leading a team. With a flowing stream of great compliments from Trump, Nadia is fired. Nely is still my pick to win.

She was actually more cohesive in her cab interview. To be honest, Nadia moved to the U.S. and unlike the others, really has no business experience so perhaps she was just over her head in this situation.

32 years after I (and about a billion other people) first fell in love with you, Nadia, we say goodbye again.
