News & Notes on WWE in HD, Jim Ross’ Contract, Big Show’s Return, WWE Injuries & More

News

Jim Ross has signed a new two-year contract with WWE.

According to PWInsider.com, Kenny Dykstra injured his knee recently and is out of action, and — while not 100% confirmed, there are reports that Paul London hurt his foot or ankle.

Also from PWInsider.com, there is talk of turning ECW’s Kevin Thorn babyface.

Charleston.net talks about Big Show’s return.

OrlandoSentinel.com has a guide to Wrestlemania.

Brother Devon told BetweenTheRopes.com that his and Brother Ray’s contract with TNA runs through September, and they are not asking for a release, with plans to negotiate a new contract when the time is up (although “never say never” re: going back to WWE).

Finally, as you very well know by now, WWE kicks off in high definition tonight with RAW, followed by ECW, Smackdown and the Royal Rumble. Check your local cable providers to see if you get the proper HD channels (WWE.com has more on this). According to PWInsider.com, “an edict” was given to the workers to be careful about calling spots or pulling punches (or otherwise working “light” in the ring). WrestlingObserver.com has noted the same, and that at a meeting a few weeks ago, talent was told that since HD makes it seem like viewers are 3-5 feet away from you, spray-on tan that runs also needs to be stopped.
