Not much this week, however probably the biggest disappointment I’ve had in quite a while.
No Jakks at Toy Fair 2008
OK, well, that’s not entirely true, however Jakks will not have their annual Toy Fair Media Briefing. This is a big bummer to me, and this will probably be the first time in 8 years that I will not be in New York City. Jakks always has the best Media Briefing, as they usually bring in some big names to entertain us, Captain Lou, Bobby Heenen, Sensational Sherri, Smokin Joe Frasier, and Mick Foley among others have been there to greet us in the past. However, never fret, as Jakks will be sending us images of their showroom with all of the new product.
Road to WrestleMania XXIV
Toy R Us’ annual exclusive set has started to hit in both singles and doubles. Carlito, Batista, Kane, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga & CM Punk round out the singles, and Chavo Guerrero vs. ‘Silver Surfer’ Rey Mysterio, Triple H vs. Mr. McMahon, & Randy Orton vs. John Cena are in the double packs. Pictures are up on eBay, follow this link, as I do not want to steal any images from eBay auctions.
King of Kings
Toys R Us has another exclusive in the pipeline. They will have a fully clothed King of Kings Triple H.
This will come the same way as the Aztek Mysterio, and Duel Champion RVD in the past. Figure will be $10, and available around WrestleMania time. I can only hope Mobster John Cena is next.
That would be it for this week. Notoriously the month leading to Toy Fair is very light on news, so I wouldn’t expect too much as we get into February.
