Let The Trades Begin

The Memphis Grizzlies began blowing up their roster today, reportedly sending former All-Star Pau Gasol and a second round pick to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, the semi-retired Aaron McKie and two first-round picks.

Opinion Great move for the Lakers. Gasol can fill in for Bynum until he gets back, and when he gets back you’ll have a front court of Odom at SF, Gasol at PF, and Bynum at C throw Kobe at SG and you’ve got a huge threat to come out of the West and play for a championship. Memphis’ motives are little more confusing. They are obviously dumping salary with this move, but it’s the Crittenton part that confuses me. He’s a good young PG, but Memphis already has 2 of those in Conley and Lowry and they already have Navarro and Miller for SG so unless they plan on moving one of them for a draft pick or something, it’s perplexing. But maybe they’re just going to play 5 little guys because…

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to send PF Stromile Swift to the New Jersey Nets for C Jason Collins.

Back to the opinion…I’ve always like Stro Swift, not the best player but he can get you boards and play a little defense. Maybe playing with Jefferson and Carter will help his offense.
