The Baltimore Orioles have dealt ace left-hander Eric Bedard to the Seattle Mariners for a slew of prospects. Adam Jones, George Sherill, Chris Tillman, Kam Mickolio and Tony Butler will be going to the Orioles from the Mariners.
Baltimore really seems to have made a killing in this deal getting both the Mariners top hitting prospect, Adam Jones, and their top pitching prospect, Chris Tillman. Compare that to the Twins recent deal where they got neither of those from the Mets in a deal for Johan Santana. Bedard does have one more year on his contract than Santana had and without the multiple Cy Young Awards probably won’t demand as much financially when that time comes.
