Stillman to Sens

The Carolina Hurriwhalers traded Forward Cory Stillman and defensemen Mike Commodore to the Ottawa Senators for Forward Patrick Eaves and defensemen Joe Corvo.

Stillman already has his name on the Stanley Cup twice, once with Carolina and once with Tampa Bay, and should give the Sens a veteran presence up front. He’ll probably team up with another of the top three(Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza) in Ottawa to make two potent lines.

Commodore is a physical presence on the blue line and a significant upgrade physically on more of a finesse back line in Ottawa.

Eaves will be a restricted Free Agent at the end of the year, and Corvo has two years remaining on his contract.
