YAMMA Announces Debut Card

News

YAMMA, the new mixed martial arts promotion created by UFC founder Bob Meyrowitz, has announced the fight card for its debut show. The show takes place April 11 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, and features a new kind of fighting surface that has yet to be unveiled. It is believed that the fighting surface will have some sort of slope around the bottom to prevent fights from going to the ground against the cage.

Meyrowitz has stated that most YAMMA shows will feature an 8 man tournament format with one or two “legends” matches. The legends fight for the debut YAMMA show will feature MMA favorite and legendary tough guyDon Frye against Oleg Taktarov, a veteran of the early UFC cards.

The card, as it currently stands:

  • Don Frye vs. Oleg Taktarov
  • Gary Goodridge vs. Eric “Butterbean” Esch
  • 8 Man Heavyweight Tournament featuring: Rex Richards, Marcelo Pereira, Chris Tuscherer, Sherman Pendergarst, Travis Wiuff, Alexey Oleynik, Tony Sylvester and George Bush
