Internationally Acclaimed Federation Ring Of Honor To Broadcast State-Of-The-Art Pro Wrestling Show On Fifth Pay-Per-View Event Via Dish Network, iN DEMAND & TVN

Weston, CT—Ken Gelman of G-Funk Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce the Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand broadcast of “Rising Above.” This action event will debut on Friday, March 7, 2008, via Dish Network, iN DEMAND and TVN. The internationally-acclaimed Ring Of Honor (www.rohwrestling.com) has also brought you “Respect Is Earned,” “Driven,” “Man Up!” and “Undeniable.” “Undeniable” came complete with music by the Grammy Award-winning American Alternative Rock band Smashing Pumpkins, who gave permission for ROH to produce an exclusive “Doomsday Clock.” (Billy Corgan, the band’s singer/songwriter/guitarist, is a major ROH fan.) Since the advent of its revered product, ROH has been inundated with rave reviews across-the-board. Wrestling Observer Newsletter called “Man Up!,” “from a wrestling standpoint, up there with the best PPVs of all-time. Seriously.” Now, ROH ups the ante on its celebrated brand of Combat Art which utilizes elements of wrestling, mixed-martial arts and aggression like you’ve never seen before to create its own niche in this depressed era of silly WWE storylines that turn off real wrestling fans and disenfranchised former fans.

“Rising Above” is headlined by an ROH World Championship title match between the champion, Great Britain’s Nigel McGuinness, and the #1 Challenger Austin Aries. This extreme bout will rival the Match-Of-The-Year bout from “Driven,” when McGuinness took on Bryan Danielson. Also on the line is a two-out-of-three fall World Champion Tag Team title match between Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe against the formidable team of Roderick Strong and Rocky Romero. The Briscoes are widely regarded as the #1 Tag Team in all of Pro Wrestling and have become known for putting away all opponents in two straight falls! Claudio Castagnoli faces his former tag team partner Chris Hero in a grudge match. Bryan “The American Dragon” Danielson, known as the best pure wrestler in the world today, puts his reputation on the line against the Japanese man-mountain Takeshi Morishima. There will also be an outrageous women’s bout between Daizee Haze, Sara Del Ray and Lacey.
