Cro Cop’s DREAM Opponent Named & More

Mirko Cro Cop’s opponent for his DREAM debut will be Yoshihiro Nakao, according to WrestlingObserver.com. The match will be the main event at the new promotion’s debut show, taking place March 15 at the Saitama Super Arena.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (click here for subscription information), Dave Meltzer reports that Cro Cop’s deal is for three fights believed to be taking place in March, June and September, and that he thinks a match with Fedor will take place but on New Year’s Eve. After that, Meltzer writes, Cro Cop “says he wants to return to UFC, and specifically said he wants to be there by the end of this year.” Apparently he has asked for rematches with Gabriel Gonzaga and Cheick Kongo.

The rest of the March 15 DREAM card will be a lightweight tournament featuring the following match-ups, according to Meltzer: Calvan vs. Aoki, Kawajiri vs. Black Mamba, Miyata vs. Firminho and Boku vs. Joachim Hansen. The tournament matches will be two rounds each, the first ten minutes and the second five.
