Sure I am that this day
We are masters of our fate
That the task which has been set before us
Is not above our strengths
That its pangs and toils
Are not beyond our endurance
As long as we have faith in our cause
And an unconquerable will to win
Victory will not be denied us.

-Sir Winston Churchill

Earlier today, Kurt Angle and company talk with JB about reversing the decision from the Cage Match from Impact.  AJ is worried about Karen and Kurt sets him straight.

And we are LIVE from Norfolk, Virginia!  The arena looks pretty packed, but there is a lot of empty space on the floor for the set up.  We have our Three Way Dance for the #1 Contendership to the Tag Team Championships!

LAX v. The Rock & Rave Infection v. The Motor City Machine Guns
Tag Team Title #1 Contender’s Match

Sign of the Night:  You’ve Got to be Kidding Me
Sounds like this night will be very interesting after seeing that sign so early into the show.

Two men in the ring to start out.  Sabin and Homicide start off as Cide nails a couple armdrags.  Sabin locks up and he hits a shoulder block for a one.  Cide nails a flip suplex and he sends Sabin to the ropes.  Sabin rolls though the sunset flip and he tags in Shelley.  Low dropkick to Homicide and the double team is successful.  Shelley gets a two count.  Lance Hoyt tags in as does Hernadez.  Hoyt tries to suplex Hernadez, but Hernadez nails the stalling and I mean a LONG stalling brainbuster.  Everyone in the ring gets taken out during the brainbuster,  Shelley nails a superkick and ht is Sabin and Hernadez for a second.  Jummy Rave nails a DDT on the ring apron on SHelley.  Hernadez flies over the top and lands on top of Hoyt!

In the ring, Homicide takes it to Jimmy Rave.  In come the MCMG and they take care of Rave as Shelley bows out.  Sabin introduces Rave’s face to Shelley’s feet.  Rave fights back and nails a hurrancurana!  Shelley snaps the neck to the canvas and Rave is almost pinned.  Shelley nails some punches, but Hoyt interferes.  Rave nails the DDT and is tagged by Homicide.  T-Bone Suplex and Hernadez tags in.  Homicide nails the Three Amigos and on the last suplex hands him over to Hernadez for the backbreaker.  That gets two and Hernadez goes to work.  Double team move by LAX gets a two count as Homicide gets back in.  Hoyt tags himself in and tosses Cide out of the ring.  Hoyt plays the Air Guitar and nails a vicious Fallaway slam!  Rave is in the ring and he tags back out to Hoyt.  Some issues with who is legal emerge, and it seems that Shelley is the legal man along with Hoyt.  Headlock is applied, but Shelley gets out only to be dropped to the canvas for two.  Hoyt goes uo top and he misses the moonsault!  Rave gets tagged in and Shelley nails the jawbreaker!  Hoyt sends Sabin to the floor and the R&R doubleteams Shelley.

IN COMES HERNADEZ AND HE IS ON FIRE!  Crackajack connects and he nails a backdrop on Hoyt!  Spinebuster to Hoyt and Rave is in the ring!  Rave jumps into Hernadez and Hernadez BOMBS him to the canvas!  The MCMG gets in the ring and Shelley nails the Sliced Bread!  Hoyt is in the ring and he he isn a victim of a top rope assisted DDT!  Homocide is in and he nails the Gringo Stunner!  Rave sends Homocide to the ropes and Cide flips through the second ropes and lands on most everyone else on the outside!  In the ring, Hernadez nails Rave with the Border Toss and this match is in the books!

Winners:  LAX
Grade:  B+ (Very hot opener to which I actually had little expectations for.  All six men worked well in the match and they got enough time.  So far, so good.)

The fun just went downhill slightly.  Johnny Fairplay and his friend Joel Anderson are in attendance tonight.  Say what you will…but Fairplay sucks.

To the back with JB, who is outside the makeshift offices of Jim Cornette.  He has a huge decision to make regarding the Angle/Cage match from Impact.  The tape is rolled and it clearly shows that Angle landed first, but that is in the eyes of the beholder.  Apparantly, the voting is not going to change the decision, but Jim Cornette may be swayed by the results.  Just like the Supreme Court was swayed in 2000.  I crack myself up.  Up next is the X Division Championship title bout between Jay Lethal and Petey Williams.

Petey Williams w/Rhaka Khan v. “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal (c)
X Division Championship

I just love how the camera flashes over to So Cal Val every few seconds.  Anyhow, the official for this match is a newbie to TNA Wrestling, Brian Hebner.  They jockey for position, with Lethal having a waist lock on Williams.  Lethal nails an arm drag and he locks on the armbar.  Williams gets back up and misses the enzugiri.  Letham gets a rollup for two, as does Williams.  Lethal didn’t get the Lethal Combination, Williams didn’t hit the Canadian Destroyer.  They juke and jive in the center, with Lethal nailing an elbow to take Williams down.  Lethal gets a two count as Teney talks about Angle.  Lethal goes up top and he hits the sledge for two!  Back to Angle as Lethal nails a flip on Williams.  Low dropkick connects and Lethal goes from the top to the outside!  Rhaka Khan stares down Lethal and it bought time for Williams, who gets a two count!  Backbreaker into a spinning neckbreaker combo by Williams connects for two!

Lethal tries to fight back and the sunset flip is blocked.  Williams nails a double knee and Tenay goes BACK to the Angle controversey.  Way to make the X Division Title look important.  Maybe no commentary is much better for TNA’s sakes.  Williams nails a roundhouse kick and he goes for a suplex.  The armbar/chinlock combo is fought out of and Williams hangs Lethal up on the ropes.  Outside Lethal goes and Williams nails a hurrancurana on the outside!  He flexes his leg muscle to Rhaka Khan to no reaction.  Inside the ring, Williams wears down Lethal with an headlock.  Lethal is back up and he nails some elbows.  Cartwheel Dropkick connects for two!  Lethal attempts a suplex, but Williams blocks.  Lethal drives him face first for a close two count as So Cal Val is concerned.  Williams nails a kick and he drops the feet on Lethal’s back!  Russian Leg Sweep connects and Lethal is in trouble.  Lethal looks for the Combo, but is blocked!  Williams nails a powerbomb and he looks for the Destroyer, but Lethal nails the Full Nelson Suplex for a VERY CLOSE TWO!  Williams is practically dead in the ring.  Lethal springboards and he hits nothing but air!  They tease a roll up spot and they roll through it on each occurance.  Williams locks on the Sharpshooter!  Lethal writhes in pain as Williams grabs the arm.  The move is broke…Canadian Destroyer is countered to the Lethal Combination!  Lethal goes to the top and Scott Steiner runs interference.  He tosses Lethal off the turnbuckle as Rhaka Khan has the young Hebner distracted.  Williams is back up and he nails the Canadian Destroyer and he covers!  So Cal Val pulls the referee’s legs out!  Rhaka Khan chases So Cal Val up the ramp and Sonjay Dutt makes sure Rhaka Khan doesn’t get her way.  Lethal was playing possum and he rolls Williams up for three!

Winner and STILL X Division Champion:  Jay Lethal
Grade:  B- (Focusing on the Angle Controversey during this match, the run ins, and the crap towards the end hurt this match.  This was an A level match too.)

Post match, Sonjay Dutt celebrates with Val and Lethal.  Now we join Tenay and West at the table.  They break down the rest of the card.  We go back, yet again, to the controversey involving the Cage match from Impact.  He sends it over to Crystal with the Unlikely Alliance.  It doesn’t matter what the result is…they will kick the Angle Alliance’s ass!  He doesn’t care if the result is overturned.  Nash talks about how victory tonight accomplishes two things.  Now it is time for our comedy match of the evening.  Eric Young is afraid of monsters.  Now that we got that out of the way…time for the match.

Eric Young & Kaz v. Black Reign & RelliK
Tag Team Match

Kaz and RelliK start the match.  They lock up and we get a clean break!  Kaz gets a close fall on Rellik and they continue to look for an opening.  Rellik gets a couple shots in, but Kaz hits the Dragon Screw and we a shot at the stripes from a lazy cameraman.  Rellik rakes the eyes and tags in Black Reign.  Kaz gets a dropkick for two and he tags in EY.  EY is in the match as Black Reign stalks him.  They lock up and EY nails a punch to Black Reign!  Low Blow by EY and we don’t get a DQ call?  Cool!  He clotheslines him for a one!  He tags to Kaz and Kaz goes to work.  Turnbuckle Dropkick connects and Kaz gets a rollup on Black Reign!  RelliK comes in and Kaz hits a German and he has BOTH MEN PINNED!They kick out at two, though.  He hits the leg drop and tries to do a double team.  Kaz pays for it and he eats a kick by RelliK!  RelliK bites Kaz and he locks on a choke.  Kaz almost gets out, but RelliK hits a release suplex for two!  In comes Black Reign and they double team Kaz for two!  Back in comes RelliK and Kaz is in trouble!  RelliK looks for another release suplex, but Kaz lands on his feet!  He nails a dropkick and EY is being stalked by Black Reign.  Kaz jumps off the ropes and lands into a spinebuster by RelliK for two!  The stiff kicks by Kaz take RelliK down as EY wants in.  EY is back in and he hulks up!  RelliK rises up and EY runs chicken.  Black Reign chases EY up the ramp and RelliK has Kaz back in.  It is now two on one and they nail a guillotine face slam for two!  RelliK tags in Black Reign and EY is nowhere to be found.  Kaz floats over and he nails a double one-arm DDT!  He calls out to EY to no avail.  Some strange music plays and it is EY in a superhero costume!  Somebody please shoot me.  He nails a double dropkick!  He takes both monsters down!  Cross Body onto Black Reign is interrupted by RelliK  Black Reign holds onto SUPER EY and Rellik Kills his own tag team partner.  He nails the high knee to EY.  EY sends Black Reign straight to RelliK’s jewels.  He gets Black Reign up in a Fireman’s Carry and RelliK gets on top to squash Eric, but he’s SUPER ERIC!  Double DVD connects and EY gets the pin!

Winners  Eric Young & Kaz
Grade: C-  (This was sadly going to D territory, but I’m bumping it up to a C- because at least Super Eric Young works in this sense.)

To the back and more about the controversey!  The Angle Alliance is with JB and Jimbo.  He says the fans have Christian Cage beating Kurt Angle and Tomko interrupts.  Angle wonders who is running the show.  Jim Cornette ignores them as he walks away.  Team 3-D says the fans are better at making decisions as he complains about Shark Boy.  They call for Jim Cornette to take a drug test and he is pissed off!

Time for our second title match of the evening…and it isn’t even halfway through the event.

Gail Kim v. ODB v. Awesome Kong w/ Raisha Saeed (c)
Three Way Dance for the TNA Knockout’s Championship

The bell sounds and they circle the ring.  Kong takes care of the two in single attempts, but when working together…Kong still owns them.  Kim is sent to the corner as is ODB.  ODB moves and Kim gets squashed!  ODB takes it to the champion and she tries to toss her over.  Kim hits the leg drop sending Kong out of the ring!  Raisha checks on her and Kim takes it to ODB.  ODB gets a flip for two!  Kim gets ODB down and she goes on top!  She jumps onto Kong and Kong catches her.  ODB dives through the ropes and she takes both women down!  In the ring, ODB gets a two on Kim!  She sends Kim to the ropes, but Kim tries to pick ODB up.  ODB takes Kim down in a slam and she gets a chinlock!  Kim is back up and she jumps onto ODB, who hits the Fallaway Slam, and Kim lands bad on her arm!  Kim is back up and she hits the spear!  Kim goes for a corner mount, but she takes ODB outside the ring and it is Kong v. Kim!  Kong slams Kim against her breasts!  Kim is in huge trouble as she chokes her.  Kong misses the charge.  Sunset Flip attempt by Kim just won’t work and Kong goes for the fists, but Kim counters!  That’s short lived as she runs into a clothesline.  Kim is sent to the steel and ODB is back in action.

Kong slams the knees down and she looks like she wants to kill.  Chokebomb connects, but Kong doesn’t go for the cover.  Enzugiri connects by Kim and Kong tries to go after her.  They ping pong Kong arouind and ODGB takes a drink.  Kim steals it and she drinks!  Stereo Dropkicks and they break up each other’s pin.  Now they go after each other and Kim goes after Kong.  Kong is tripped by ODB and Kim gets a close pin attempt!  Awesome Bomb is countered into a double pin attempt by both Kim and ODB and Kong still kicks out!  ODB goes after Kong to no avail.  Kim’s turn and she gets BOMBED on the mat!  Kong goes to the top rope!  SPLASH connects, but ODB saves the match!  They stare off and she nails some chops!  The Implant Buster connects on ODB!  Kong goes back on top!  She misses the big splash!  ODB is charging after Kong!  Top Rope Lou Thez Press gets a nearfall by ODB!  Raisha Saeed interferes, taking ODB’s legs out from underneath her!She drags her to the apron, but Kong nails the Awesome Bomb for three!

Winner:  Awesome Kong
Grade:  B (Decent Women’s Triple Threat.  Kong is still a monster…who can stop her?)

We get a video preview of Rhino on top of the Elevation X as he promos the upcoming match.  Back live, Jim Cornette is in the ring.  He plugs the Scope Arena.  he has some issues to address.  First, Team 3-D.  He’s sick of them that if they make the weight tonight, they won’t be forced to weigh in.  If they don’t make weight, they are gone!  Now onto the Angle Controversey.  The first clip proved to be inconclusive.  The second proved to be a tie.  The slow motion showed clear as day that Angle touched first.  The Angle Alliance with JB are celebrating, but Jim isn’t done yet!  Angle is demanding to overturn a hundred years of pro wrestling history.  That seems far fetched, Jimbo.  Angle wants instant replay brought to pro wrestling.  He has a lot of demands!  It is too much for Jim and he brings it to the fan’s attention.  The fans don’t want Angle to get squat.  The fans want the decision to stand.  It is final as the decision stands and that draws one conclusion.  The fans didn’t watch the replays…they didn’t care about that crap.  They hate Angle and that is how that decision stood.  Angle utters BS and there is no bleep!

Time for our other comedy match of the night…a Fish Market Street Fight.

Team 3-D v. Shark Boy & Curry Man
Fish Market Street Fight
If Team 3-D fails to make weight, they are fired from TNA

Team 3-D weigh in and the fans want Team 3-D to be fired.  Fat jokes are being made all around.  D-Von makes weight tonight as does Brother Ray  The gimmick scale works!  Johnny Devine hands out the Ding Dongs, but Curry Man and Shark Boy roll them up for two!  Curry Man dances around D-Von and he nails the flying hip!  They double team Ray and send them out.  Ray is already bleeding and they leave the match.  The fight continues on the ramp.  Curry Man beats Ray with the fish and hilarity ensues.  Curry Man has the fishing pole and Shark Boy has D-Von.  Curry Man puts a Ding Dong as bait and it attracts Ray.  He eats it…hook line sinker.  And the laws of physics defy us as Curry Man drags Ray into the ring…Meanwhile, Shark Boy hits D-Von.  Curryman tosses Ray out and he dances.  Ray gouges the eyes and he goes to move around the fish table.  Ray is netted and I am going nuts.  Ray suplexes Curry Man onto the fish table and D-Von sends Shark Boy to the wall.  Ray pelts Curry Man with fish and he tosses fish to the crowd.    Ray bites a fish and he drinks some clam juice to wash it off.  The tables are out and Curry Man is in trouble!  Shark Boy comes to a rescue, but Johnny Devine beats him with the stick.  Johnny Devine nets himself a shark and Curry Man is in trouble once again.  Ray makes out with a fish and he drops it on Curry Man’s nuts!  Now the paddles come to play and Curry Man is beaten by a pole.  The fans turn on Curry Man and Shark Boy and chant for the tables! Ray misses the back splash and Shark Boy goes up top!  Double Clothesline connects and he takes D-Von down!  Back drop by Shark Boy and he is cleaning house!  D-Von kills Shark Boy with authority and Curry Man is back in action.  The Saving Grace hits and D-Von gets a two count!  WASSUP is countered!  Curry Man rolls Ray up and Shark Boy drops a fish to the nuts!  Curry Man is on top with a cross body on D-Von for two!  Stunner by Shark Boy gets a two count as Ray is still in it!  The minds are met and both men drop them on the canvas for a close two count!  Stereo DDT’s and another two count!  They mount Team 3-D in the corner and Shark Boy is caught by Ray and the Doomsday Device connects!  That gets two!  TWO!  Curry Man is back in the ring and it is time to take the trash out!  Curry Man cracks the can over Ray’s head.  Devine is in with the Powder of Doom, but Curry Man is too smart, too bad Ray isn’t.  Devine is stunned and tossed THROUGH THE TABLE!  D-Von is back in and he clotheslines both men.  Ray is still blind but he is ready for the 3-D, but Curry Man counters the whip…3-D on D-Von!  Shark Boy gets the cover!

Winners:  Curry Man & Shark Boy
Grade:  B- (I had little expectations for this match.  The stipulations, while crappy, were played well and everyone is good!  The stip was changed to where Team 3-D won’t be fired for losing apparantly.)

Post match, Joel from Survivor puts his hands on Ray and he gets confrontational!  To the back with JB and AJ Styles is still talking about Karen!  Angle nearly takes AJ’s head off and Angle says that he’s going to sit out the first five minutes!  After they leave, AJ asks JB if he seen Karen and she has a bombshell to drop THURSDAY ON IMPACT!

Recap of the Robert Roode/Booker T feud.

Robert Roode w/Payton Banks v. Booker T w/Traci Brooks
“Stand By Your Man” Strap Match
The loser’s valet gets beaten with the strap by the winner’s valet.

The bell rings and both men are strapped together.  Well…actually, Robert Roode is stalling.  After about two minutes of stalling and Roode is finally strapped.  Booker T drags Roode in the ring and he gets the moves on him.  Chop after chop and Booker gets a back drop!  Roode tries to escape, but Booker chokes the life out of Roode.  Heel kick connects and Roode is in trouble in the early going.  Booker continues to choke, but Roode takes control!  He chokes Booker out and he nails some thrusts to the ribs.  He chops away, but Booker fires back with some chops of his own.  The strap is in between Booker’s legs and Roode takes control of the strap.  Roode drops the knee for two!  Roode chokes Booker at the ropes and he wraps the strap around his fist!  He decks Booker with the extension.  Roode gets some rights, but Booker comes back!  Booker gets a suplex for two!  Roode battles back and Booker gets the Axe Kick…blocked!  Roode gets a DDT for two!  Both men are back up and they knock each other down while the ladies battle on the outside.  Traci gets a pair of cuffs from Miss Banks!  She tosses them in the ring, but Roode gets a low blow on Booker!  Booker T gets decked by the headcuffs and that gets the pin!

Winner:  Robert Roode
Grade:  C- (Seems like it was too quick, but an acceptable match.)

Atlas Security escorts Booker T away as Miss Banks lashes Traci more than ten times.  However, Traci has the strap now!  She looks to use it, but Robert takes it and he chokes Traci.  TNA only doesn’t condone man on woman violence on TV – PPV is fine!  Roode straps Brooks and SHARMELL RETURNS and she goes NUTS WITH THE STRAP!  Everyone from security, to referees, to EVEN JIM CORNETTE gets hit by the strap!  Finally, Atlas Security takes her away.

To the back with Crystal, who reminds James Storm of his fears of heights.  Storm gets cocky about how he will win the match.  Storm hasn’t drinked at all today, so he will be sober tonight!

Elevation X promo.

James Storm w/ Jacqueline Moore v. Rhino
Elevation X

Storm climbs up the X structure and he lowers the rope for Jacqueline to hoist the six pack of beer up to him.  He places the beer where the paths cross.  The structure sways around.  Once Rhino gets up, James Storm climbs down.  He walks as Rhino chugs the beer at Storm!  Rhino comes down from the structure and the match starts on the ground floor!  They brawl on the outside as Rhino sends Storm to the guardrail!  Rhino pulls out a table or two!  The weaponry comes out and the action goes to the ring!  Storm’s head goes off the can and Rhino sets one table up in the corner.  Storm scores a nice kick after they evade the table.  Storm sets up the other table and he makes Rhino eat metal.  He lays Rhino on the table and he climbs to the turnbuckle.  Rhino takes it to Storm on the ropes.  No dice.  Rhino nails the Belly to Belly on Storm!  Jacqueline has Rhino distracted as she climbs the scaffold!

Jacqueline is on top and Rhino is in pursuit!  Storm is climbing too!  Both men are on top and Jacqueline climbs down!  Storm is caught by Rhino and they get the match started proper.  Storm pleads for his life and Rhino isn’t buying it.  Rhino trips and is down on the scaffold bottom.  Now they battle and Storm is close to falling.  Both men are back up and Rhino is about to fall off!  Rhino grabs onto a leg of Storm’s and they are holding on for dear life!  Back on the scaffold and Storm gouges the eyes!  Storm pulls something out of AJ Style’s playbook, hiding under the base directly underneath Rhino.  He has a can of beer in his hand.  Rhino finds him!  After playing Cat and Mouse, Rhino RIPS THE PANELING UP!  Storm has nowhere to go…BEER IN THE EYES!  RHINO IS BLIND!  Rhino knocks him where one nut went left, one nut went right…OUCH!  They battle on the opened patch of the girder and Storm is in huge trouble!  Rhino kicks him through the table!

Winner:  Rhino
Grade:  C- (It wasn’t bad…it could be the type of match it was.  I heard last years was a great match…but I don’t think this was as good.)

Storm is stretchered out as we go to our main event promo.

AJ Styles, Tomko, & Kurt Angle v. Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, & Samoa Joe

The Inside Pulse

I wasn’t anticipating ordering this Pay-Per-View because the crazy stipulations that were being tossed into the equation.  The Pay-Per-View was built around the battle of the two alliances and I think the main event did its job setting up for Lockdown.  I was disappointed at this year’s Elevation X match, but I have to give James Storm credit for taking that bump like he did.  Hopefully he isn’t injured legitimately.  The comedy matches were just that, comedy.  The strap match left a lot to be desired, but with Sharmell back and wanting to kick some ass, it seems that will lead us to a cage warfare next month..  As I noted a second ago, besides the stipulations of the announced matches, there wasn’t any hint of Vince Russo throwing his weight around.  There wasn’t 100 run-ins in the main event, there was a clean finish in the main event.  I had little expectations and TNA delivered a quality Pay-Per-View on this night.

Until tomorrow night, keep on rockin’.
