Rasslin’ Roundtable – TNA Destination X

Features, Roundtables, Top Story

Tonight TNA presents Destination X, headlined by the Angle Alliance taking on Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, and Kevin Nash. What do the Inside Pulse writers think will happen? Find out inside!

Kurt Angle/AJ Styles/Tomko vs. Christian Cage/Samoa Joe/Kevin Nash
Danny Cox: This match may not end up being that bad, but the whole Christian being a face thing again bothers me. When he first came into TNA as a huge fan favorite, he was boring as all hell. It wasn’t just that he was boring, but he also looked way too bored to actually give a damn about being out there. Yet another way though to keep Joe from getting the Heavyweight Title…don’t even have a title match on your PPV.

Oh, and I wouldn’t be surprised by a Cage immediate turn here and he ends up with the Angle Alliance anyway.
Winners – Angle/Styles/Tomko
Matthew Michaels: Logic says that Samoa Joe — who recently said (in the storyline) he would quit TNA if he didn’t win the title from Angle at Lockdown — should get the pin on the champ here to set up the next month of booking. TNA booking says…
Winners – Team Angle; Tomko pins Joe

Mark Allen: My head already hurts trying to think of what this month’s screwjob will be, so instead I’ll just go with a nice, logical finish. Joe pins Angle clean in the middle to actually set up their big cage match next month. If that actually happens I’ll be surprised, but hey a guy can dream.
Winner – Joe, Christian & Nash

Paul Marshall: Additional Stipulation by Russo…the heels are at a disadvantage for five minutes. Sadly…who cares? Kurt Angle is a goof. AJ Styles is a bigger goof. Tomko is Tomko. Joe can’t sign a contract when he wants to make more money. Kevin Nash can’t stand straight. Christian Cage is probably the only worthwhile star in this unlikely alliance. Somebody beat some sense into me because I can’t see anything.
Winners – The Outsiders 2k8 Part II

David Brashear: Samoa Joe’s said that he’ll quit if he doesn’t win the belt next month. Fine and dandy. That just means that if Joe’s winning then, he’s got to lose now to keep from looking “too” dominant going into Lockdown.
Winners – Angle, Tomko, AJ

X Division Championship
Champ Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams

Matthew Michaels: Logic says that Lethal should keep the belt for a long time and bring some legitimacy back to the X Division now that the feud with 3-D is over. TNA booking says…
Winner – Petey Williams

Mark Allen: I’m going to try to stay away from screwjobs thoughts this months and just think of what will be logical. So Jay pins Petey clean to look like a million bucks, which will set up the Jay-Scott Steiner X-Title match and continue to plant seeds for Lethal-Sonjay Dutt down the road.
Winner – Jay Lethal

Paul Marshall: Petey Williams won a Gauntlet Match to become the #1 Contender to the title a couple months ago. Scott Steiner has a X-Division title shot. Petey Williams, being the #1 Contender, had to win a #1 Contendership match to earn this shot. Following me? Figures. Scott Steiner’s freak being at ringside only adds some more chocolate flavor to this match. If this gets us Williams/Steiner III next month, I might actually be excited.
Winner and NEW Champion – Petey Williams

David Brashear: I’m going to say that Petey takes the title. We’ll see him and Steiner celebrate, and then, since Russo’s booking, Steiner will immediately turn on him and demand a title shot.
Winner – Petey Williams

Danny Cox: Wow, a match that I would actually care to see is on this card. And to be honest with you, I wouldn’t mind seeing Petey win the title here even if it means Jay Lethal (the most deserving guy in TNA) has it no longer. Thing is, Petey lost the title shot to Steiner…kinda pointless giving him one now anyway isn’t it?
Winner and NEW Champion – Petey Williams

TNA Knockouts Championship
Champ Awesome Kong vs. Gail Kim vs. ODB

Mark Allen: This should be ODB-Gail one-on-one for the shot next month but angles move fast around here. I don’t think they’ll take the belt off of Kong quite yet so she retains, pinning ODB.
Winner – KONG

Paul Marshall: What other way to transition the title to someone while keeping Awesome Kong awesome? ODB isn’t going to win, even though if I wouldn’t mind that fact. However, I don’t think the Kong train is derailing. With two title matches on the card, you can guarantee one title change…but that title change isn’t going to be with the Women’s title. Kong kills all and continues to be dominant. Six Sides of Steel with the Knockout Title on the line for Lockdown has gotten more interesting.
Winner and STILL Champion – Awesome Kong

David Brashear: Let’s face it. We’ve got Kong-Gail in a cage at Lockdown. They haven’t announced it yet, but it’s going to happen. And that will be where Kong drops the belt – not here.
Winner – Awesome Kong

Danny Cox: Unless this has Mt. Fiji coming in to take out Kong, then I don’t care.
Winner and STILL Champion – Awesome Kong

Matthew Michaels: Logic says Kong should win, allowing Kim and ODB to keep their feud going while setting up a singles match in the cage next month. TNA booking has actually been pretty logical in the women’s division…
Winner – Kong

Elevation X
Rhino vs. James Storm

Paul Marshall: Last year, this match was awesome. This year, this match has the tendency to suck. We get to rekindle the Storm/Rhino feud that is involving some WWE-ish spinner belt with a budweiser bottle on it. Cheap, I say. Screw the extras…this match will be decent…even though the match is slightly predictable.
Winner – Rhino

David Brashear: And here we come to a possible disaster in the making. That’s not saying that Rhino or Storm are bad wrestlers. It’s just that scaffold matches usually don’t turn out that well, as everybody’s just waiting for the big drop. Heck, in the late 80’s you had teams like the Midnight Express, Rock N Roll Express, and LOD fighting it out on top of scaffolds, and all that’s remembered of the matches is that big drop. That said, I can see Storm taking the drop a lot easier than I can Rhino.
Winner – Rhino

Danny Cox: The drinking title thing? Retarded. I’m so sick of this feud and we haven’t even seen anything from it in a month or two.
Winner – Rhino

Matthew Michaels: Logic says Rhino should get the win in his big comeback match. TNA booking says there will be about 100 run-ins, and somehow the returning Disco Inferno and D’Lo Brown will get involved.
Winner – James Storm

Mark Allen: Good guys should always win scaffold matches.
Winner – Rhino

Strap Match
Winning woman whips losing woman
Booker T (w/Tracy Brooks) vs. Robert Roode (w/Ms. Banks)

David Brashear: It’s a good thing Sharmell’s not in Booker’s corner – otherwise we could be looking at a possible hate crime here.

That said, Tracy got the upper hand on Ms. Banks on Impact, so Ms. Banks will be getting to use the whip here tonight. This feud’s not going to end until Booker, Sharmell, and Tracy all get to get their hands on Roode.
Winner – Robert Roode

Danny Cox: I don’t care what anyone else says, Robert Roode is garbage on the mic and in the ring. God Booker…this is really what you left WWE for?
Winner – Booker T

Matthew Michaels: Logic says Booker shouldn’t get his revenge until Sharmell’s back healthy and that there’s still money left in this program if Roode gets built up enough. TNA booking is probably already bored with the angle…
Winner – Booker T

Mark Allen: Logic would say Booker wins so the heel gets strapped, but that’s not a real chivalrous move either. So I say Roode wins and before the strappin’ commences Sharmell returns and makes the save.
Winner – Bobby Roode

Paul Marshall: This feud has stopped short of being awesome. I like this feud so much that I prefer it over the similiar feud of JBL and Finlay. One involves midgets and the other involves women. Of course I’m going to like the women more than a midget. As to the winner…coin flip please.
Winner – Booker T

Fish Market Street Fight
If Team 3D don’t make weight or lose the match, they’re fired from TNA
Curry Man and Shark Boy vs. Team 3-D

Danny Cox: Friggin stupid. Don’t care, never will.
Winners – Curry Man and Shark Boy

Matthew Michaels: I thought I read somewhere that if 3-D loses they’re fired, but I’m not sure. Either way, logic puts 3-D over the job squad, so TNA booking says…
Winners – Shark Boy & Curry Man

Mark Allen: I have no idea where they are going with this thing. I don’t really see 3-D losing and then “leaving TNA” because I haven’t heard of any Japan tour for them or anything. But I can’t imagine them jobbing out their new pet projects in Curry Man & Sharky. Let’s go with the idea that 3-D wins because Sharky turns on Curry Man because Sharky “DTA” don’t trust anyone.
Winner – Team 3-D

Paul Marshall: What in the SHELL is a Fish Market Street Fight? Are they going to beat each others BASS with some BASS? I think I need some more Crown Royal and Coke. Stone Cold Shark Boy on Pay-Per-View? Gimme a SHELL YEAH! Some BASS is going to be beat, but unless the off chance those rumors of a possible WWE Return are evident, Team 3-D aren’t going anywhere. When it comes down to it, that Crown and Coke sounds good about now. I’m buzzed…but I can always use another.

Winners – Me and my Crown & Coke
The Actual Winners – Team 3-D

David Brashear: Dear Santa Claus. I’ve been good all year long and plan on continuing to be so for the rest of the year as well. I don’t want much. I just want the Dudleys to lose this match and go away. Thanks, and say hello to Mrs. Claus for me, too!
Winners – Shark Boy & Curry Man

TNA World Tag Team Title Shot
Latin American Xchange vs. Motor City Machineguns vs. Rock & Rave Infection

Matthew Michaels: Logic says Shelley & Sabin are the best team here, most qualified to face AJ & Tomko — two heels — in a tag title program… and if not them, LAX is. Therefore, TNA booking says…
Winners – Rave & Hoyt-a-mania will RUN WILD

Mark Allen: MCMG won’t win unless they’ve come out of the doghouse this fast so LAX gets the win and the shot next month.
Winner – LAX

Paul Marshall: This sounds like it was thrown together at the last minute. Let’s see where the current story between the three teams are. The Guns are in trouble with management because they won’t bleed. The R&R aren’t even doing anything worthwhile. That leaves us with LAX. Perhaps LAX might get the title shot. That seems like a plan, but the Crown and Coke may be talking right about now.
Winners – LAX

David Brashear: I’d love to see the Guns win this one, but unless they get busted wide open it’s not going to happen. Therefore I’m going to run with LAX. And before I forget:

Dear Santa Claus. I forgot something in my last letter. Please make Lance Hoyt go away, too, but Jimmy Rave and Christy Hemme can stay. Thanks!
Winners – LAX

Danny Cox: Here’s your punishment Sabin and Shelly. Curtain jerks!
Winners – LAX

Kaz & Eric Young vs. Black Reign & RelliK (which may spell “Killer” backwards)

Mark Allen: The whole crowd goes into shock when they realize that Rellik does in fact spell “killer” backwards. Everybody is distracted by this revelation except Eric Young who’s been telling people this for weeks. He then sneaks a roll-up on one of the monsters and gets the win for his team.
Winner – EY and Kaz

Paul Marshall: Remember when Eric Young main evented a Pay-Per-View? More importantly, remember when Kaz defeated Christian Cage in a four star and change Ladder Match? This match will be four stars….four stars that are circling around my head once I pass out from being too damned drunk to care. Eric overcomes his fears of monsters…while I ask for more of…you guessed it. Crown and Coke.
Winners – Kaz & Eric Young

David Brashear: Fortunately for all of you, I scored Vince Russo’s notes on this match. It says that it ends when Rellik (which possibly may spell “killer” backwards) is getting ready to put Eric Young away. Eric yells out “Redrum!” and while Rellik’s trying to figure out what that means, Black Reign heads over to ask Tenay and West what it spells backwards. Eric then kicks Rellik between the legs and scores the win.

Works for me.
Winners – Eric Young and Kaz

Danny Cox: More stupidity. Wow Eric Young, how the mighty (?) have fallen. From main eventing to this.
Winners – Eric Young & Kaz

Matthew Michaels: There is no logical explanation for this match, although Kaz — the up-and-coming superstar — and Young — the fan-favorite — should win what’s likely a curtain-jerking bout. TNA booking, however, has the two guys rumored-to-be wrestling without contracts get the win…
Winners – Dustin and Stamboli
