More Post-WrestleMania Notes

News

On Newsday’s awesome wrestling blog, Alfonso Castillo has posted his post-mortem WrestleMania thoughts as well as some interesting news & notes…

Some highlights:
– Randy Orton was only the second heel to retain his title at Mania (wait, no, that can’t be right… HHH, Orton… Yokozuna!).
– A nice Kane/S.D. Jones comparison.
– The verdict is in: the seats at the Citrus Bowl are uncomfortable!
– John Legend and the Money in the Bank participants (in street clothes) rehearsed earlier in the day.
– BunnyMania was intermission for many fans, and the power outage during that match hurt the fans’ reaction to the three-way title match.
– Some locals were selling parking spaces on their property!
– Rev Theory played a concert at the Fan Axxess across the street from the stadium before the show started.
– TNA was also set up across from the stadium, letting fans take pictures with the X-Division title belt; TNA flyers littered around the stadium as well, but no TNA airplane flew overhead as was speculated.

Also, according to Prowrestling.net, Ric Flair — when asked at a press conference — said that his match didn’t belong as the final match on the show, saying nothing’s more important than the titles.

Other WWE Superstars talked about what Mania means to them at Individual.com.

OrlandoSentinel.com has a pre-Raw blurb up on its blog, although says that only Raw wrestlers will be on the show tonight from the Amway Arena. It’s been reported, however, that all three brands were told to be there. Also expected: a goodbye promo from Ric Flair. We’ll have a Raw preview up in a bit.
