2007/2008 TV Season Ratings Report – Week of 3/24 – 3/30/08

News, Shows

The leaderboard got a little more crowded this week, as repeats fade away along with FOX’s big lead…

Monday (3/24/08)

Overall:

#1 ABC 10.5
#2 CBS 7.8
#3 NBC 4.8
#4 FOX 4.4
#5 CW 0.9

Adults 18-49:

#1 CBS 4.4
#2 ABC 4.2
#3 NBC 2.4
#3 FOX 2.4
#5 CW 0.6

Monday’s Top Shows:
Dancing With the Stars, ABC
How I Met Your Mother, CBS
The Bachelor: London Calling, ABC
Deal or No Deal, NBC
Two and a Half Men, CBS
New Adventures of Old Christine, CBS
CSI: Miami, CBS
Medium, NBC

My Thoughts: How I Met Your Mother used a
Britney Spears guest-spot to its best advantage, and probably guar-
anteed a fall renewal. Dancing With the Stars did its usual
damage, and a new CSI: Miami brought CBS up to expected
Monday numbers…

Tuesday (3/25/08)

Overall:

#1 FOX 12.1
#2 ABC 8.2
#3 NBC 5.2
#4 CBS 4.6
#5 CW 1.2

Adults 18-49:

#1 FOX 8.3
#2 ABC 3.0
#3 NBC 2.9
#4 CBS 2.0
#5 CW 0.7

Tuesday’s Top Shows:
American Idol, FOX
NCIS(R), CBS
Dancing With the Stars, ABC
Primetime, NBC

My Thoughts: Idol numbers were down again.
For the CW, Reaper held most of the tired Beauty and
the Geek
audience. Here’s hoping they bring back the devil-
ishly underrated newcomer…

Wednesday (3/26/08)

Overall:

#1 FOX 10.8
#2 NBC 4.9
#3 CBS 4.5
#4 ABC 4.1
#5 CW 1.9

Adults 18-49:

#1 FOX 6.8
#2 ABC 2.0
#3 NBC 1.8
#3 CBS 1.8
#5 CW 1.2

Wednesday’s Top Shows:
Moment of Truth, FOX
American Idol, FOX
Law & Order, NBC

My Thoughts: FOX held steady with the usual strong
sampling ofIdol. Every other network’s ratings were down…

Thursday (3/27/08)

Overall:

#1 NBC 7.4
#2 CBS 6.3
#3 ABC 5.2
#4 FOX 4.0
#5 CW 2.1

Adults 18-49:

#1 NBC 4.0
#2 CBS 3.8
#3 FOX 2.8
#4 ABC 1.9
#5 CW 1.4

Thursday’s Top Shows:
Deal or No Deal, NBC
NCAA Tournament, CBS
Celebrity Apprentice, NBC

My Thoughts: Shame on you, America! The Celebrity
Apprentice
finale earned its highest ratings of the season.
Though surely benefitting from a Lost< repeat, it’s still
disheartening to realize this show will go on. Meanwhile, the
future is largely in question for ABC’s pretty good Miss
Guided
and pretty bad <Eli Stone…

Friday (3/28/08)

Overall:

#1 NBC 5.8
#2 CBS 5.7
#3 ABC 3.7
#4 FOX 3.3
#5 CW 2.4

Adults 18-49:

#1 CBS 3.1
#2 NBC 2.6
#3 ABC 1.7
#4 FOX 1.3
#5 CW 1.2

Friday’s Top Shows:
NCAA Tournament, CBS
Dateline, NBC

My Thoughts: Better than average numbers almost across
the board for Friday. ABC stumbled a little, and CW’s Smack-
down!
was surely affected by NCAA Basketball …

Sunday (3/30/08)

Overall:

#1 CBS 6.7
#2 ABC 6.0
#3 NBC 3.9
#4 FOX 3.2
#5 CW 1.0

Adults 18-49:

#1 ABC 3.5
#2 CBS 3.0
#3 FOX 2.5
#4 NBC 1.4
#5 CW 0.6

Sunday’s Top Shows:
NCAA Tournament, CBS
60 Minutes, CBS
Big Brother, CBS
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, ABC
Cold Case(R), CBS
Oprah’s Big Give, ABC

My Thoughts: Big increases pretty much across the board.
But this was obviously CBS and ABC’s night…

FOX just barely held off ABC to remain #1, in what was a pretty
entertaining ratings race. And CBS, as their procedural dramas
continue to return – will surely threaten FOX’s perch at the top…
