Interview with Gina Carano

Features

I have a new interview up at MMARated.com with Gina Carano. A taste of some of interesting things she had to say:

On whether she is fearful of suffering the same fate as the likes of Lennox Lewis and Chuck Liddell who lost fights when trying to juggle a Hollywood career with their fighting career.

“I’m just going to try it out and I think that I can do it. I just feel like I’ve put my fighting off long enough and I don’t want to keep doing that because that’s where my heart is and that’s where my passion is. And I wanna, you know, be right to the fans of the sport and continue on fighting so I had to decide: I could be super busy for, you know, two months and try to double-team it or I could, you know, wait longer to fight and I just didn’t want to stay out of the ring longer than that.”

On whether Elite XC put pressure on her to fight on the CBS show even though she may have wanted or needed more time to train given her grueling “AG” schedule:

“I made the decision myself and (fighting on CBS) is huge so (nervous laughing) we’re just going to try this out. I’m just going to put my trust in God and know that, like, I can train and I can do “American Gladiators” and I’ve got a pretty good head on my shoulders right now. It’s probably the best it’s ever been. My minds pretty clear and I feel pretty confident.”
