ROH Results from Detroit 4.18.08

Reviews

The Cool Kids (myself, Brad Garoon, and Sam Berman) just returned from ROH’s “Tag Wars 2008” show in Detroit. Here’s a full rundown.

1) In a special pre-show match, Michigan Indy veteran “The Amazing” N8 Mattson defeated ROH student Alex Payne.
2) The official opening match was a super fun six-man tag featuring more ROH students, as Pelle Primeau, Top of the Class Trophy holder Ernie Osiris, and Mitch Franklin defeated Michael Nakazawa, Danny Daniels, and Michael Elgin.
3) Silas Young was scheduled to face Adam Pearce, but Pearce was unable to make it tonight, as we were told by Shane Hagadorn. Young instead defeated Rhett Titus.
4) Jigsaw, representing the Vulture Squad, pinned Joey Matthews, representing the Age of the Fall.
5) ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli beat Kevin Steen & El Generico when Claudio pinned Generico.
6) Necro Butcher pinned Delirious in a falls-count-anywhere match that went all over the building.
7) Jack Evans & Ruckus of the Vulture Squad beat Chris Hero & Brent Albright of Sweet ‘n’ Sour Inc. After the match Albright and Larry Sweeney had a heated exchange.
8) ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers beat Austin Aries & Kota Ibushi in a non-title match when Ibushi was pinned after a spike Jay Driller.
9) Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black of the Age of the Fall beat the returning-to-ROH Motor City Machine Guns of Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin when Jacobs made Shelley tap to the End Time.

Return date is set for Saturday, July 26!

This was an excellent show that flew by and had no outright bad matches, although the Delirious vs. Necro match was a little tedious. This was a big improvement over the last Detroit show.

Thanks to Ziegler & The Cool Kids Table for the results.

I like Comics, Wrestling, Super Mario Bros & Dead Space. Oh ya, and Scott Pilgrim.
