Yesterday’s Rumors from MLB Trade Rumors
– Any hope for a Khalil Greene for Felix Pie deal were shot down.
– The Rangers could release struggling 1B Ben Broussard when Marlon Byrd comes off the DL next week.
– Scott Boras is already pushing Oliver Perez for the free agent market after the season; I don’t know about the Johan comparison.
– The Royals discuss their options with pick #3 in the draft.
– Reds trade candidates not name Griffey or Dunn: Paul Bako, Scott Hatteberg, David Weathers, Jerremy Affeldt, Kent Mercker.
– Expect the Marlins to make some moves before next season – their better players reach arbitration after this season.
– If the Rockies become sellers, look for them to move Garrett Atkins.
– Jason Botts cleared waivers.
– Expect extension talks between the Pirates and Daniel’s man-crush Nate McLouth.
– Freddy Garcia could throw off the mound in a week.
– Suitors for free agent to be Mark Teixeira: Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Orioles, Mariners, Braves, and Giants. It’ll be fun to watch who over-pays.
