What's Playing 05/16/08

Perhaps it is just the calm after the iron storm and right before the adventurous storm because this is one of the slowest weekends I’ve seen in a long time. The only big release, or only release for that matter, is the sequel to 2005’s The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. Maybe this isn’t so bad. I mean, at least there isn’t another stupid spoof movie coming out.

Wide Release

The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian – Starring Ben Barnes, Warwick Davis, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, and more. Sometimes you return somewhere to be around all the wonderful things you loved before. But things aren’t always what they seem and the place you go back to may be nothing like you remember it. The Pevensie siblings return to Narnia, where they are enlisted to once again help ward off an evil king and restore the rightful heir to the land’s throne, Prince Caspian.

Limited Release

Padre Nuestro – A Mexican boy smuggles himself to Brooklyn to meet his long-lost father – only to have his identity stolen upon arrival by an impostor who seeks to steal the fathers’ fortune. Opened Wednesday, May 14.

Reprise – Two competitive friends, fueled by literary aspirations and youthful exuberance, endure the pangs of love, depression and burgeoning careers.

Son Of Rambow is expanding.
