New TNA Knockout, Martel Interview & Steiner Rage

News

Mickie Knuckles of IWA Mid-South makes her debut in TNA this week. She was trained by Ian Rotten and has won Queen of the Death Match tournaments during her IWA tenure. She will be an ally of the Beautiful People in TNA.

Rick Martel spoke with ClubWWI about his response to the WWF giving him The Model gimmick – “It did require a lot of work especially Vince wanted me to wear the suits, ties, you know. I lived the gimmick also on the road. I had to carry these suitcases with different clothes in there. Also, the gym, the tan, and yes, the fact that I had this strong French accent made the gimmick perfect for me. I remember the first day, when I turned heel, I didn’t have a gimmick. I just knew I wanted to be a heel but I didn’t know what kind of gimmick. I remember at first J.J. Dillion and Vince came up to me with the idea for the Model. The first day I found out about it, I talked to my wife right away and said, ‘Wow. The Model. I wonder what I’m going to do with it to get some heat.’ My first reaction was how difficult it was going to be. Then my wife said, ‘Just be thankful, you know, that you’re not a rooster or something like that with a red thing on your hair.'”

Scott Steiner, meanwhile, has been speaking to the Baltimore Sun. A few highlights:

“I couldn’t be Triple H because there’s no way I could [have had sex] with Chyna.”
“Shawn Michaels is one of those wise-cracking guys who would say a smart comment to you, but then if you face him, he would run and cry somewhere.”
“I always knew [Flair] was a piece of garbage. Flair never drew when I was in the NWA and WCW.”
