The Quest Month Two

More Injuries, more youngsters, more everything.

Since last time my teams has undergone even more changes. The first change came just a few days after my last update when I picked up Micah Owings for one of the stars of my last update, Jonathan Sanchez, who had a pretty good game last week. Owings meanwhile, has struggled recently and is close to losing his roster spot.

The second pitching change I made was for super-phenom Clayton Kershaw. And for those doubting, I put in the waiver claim before he even threw a pitch in the majors. Chad Billingsley was the casualty.

Another casualty on my team is Ryan Zimmerman who just hit the DL. He hasn’t been performing that well, but he was still on pace for a career high in home runs, so he’s stashed on my DL slot rather than being dropped. Jorge Cantu was picked up to fill the roster spot. With Kouz filling the 3B slot on a day to day basis.

The last injury sustained this month was to Eric Ayabar who had been playing pretty regularly. To make up for that, I picked up a personal favorite, Alexi Casilla, who has been driving in almost a run a game. He’s hitting behind Carlos Gomez, and in front of Mauer and Morneau, so his RBI’s and Runs should be pretty steady for the rest of the year.

My team is currently sitting in 4th place with a 47-41-2 record, 7.5 games back of first place.

I’ll be back next month with another check up.

Quick aside, if you’re interested in fantasy football, head over to the forums and find the sports section and the fantasy football thread, and put in a post stating your desire to play with us this year. We’re not setting the league up yet, just trying to get an idea for how many people want to play this year.
