Make Movement: TNA Slammiversary…Was Kinda Boring

Columns

When I’m able to catch TNA, I usually find it a enjoyable experience and I can walk away with more positives than negatives. However, with this latest PPV, it was completely unmemorable but it could be the way the show is built in the first place.

When you talk about talent, TNA has it in guys like Petey Williams and Kaz. That match wasn’t so bad, but anything involving Abyss (Kane/Undertaker/Mankind-hybrid) annoys me.

The ladies match was fine, not the usual something special, but enjoyable. I hate seeing it as the second match on the card but it’s wildly popular and different from WWE and that has only worked in TNA’s favor.

I was really disappointed in the LAX and 3D match, I really expected it to be much better than it actually was. It was passable, but it was also something that no one will remember.

Awesome Kong destroyed some “fans” and of course, we’re all just waiting for one “fan” to actually beat her. The formula’s, the formula’s, the formula’s. I really doubt she’s going to destroy all these women and it leads to nothing but someone like Gail Kim or ODB trying to jump her.

The Elvis search/impersonator was in bad taste…cheap heat in Memphis after showing Graceland a few times and pumping up the city like it was. Sorry, but is Eric Young supposed to be a heel?

The WWE-lite wedding is what it was, who didn’t see the heel turn coming? The plus for this, I didn’t realize Jake’s snake was so huge/heavy in a long time.

AJ Styles versus Kurt Angle who was bound to be have been hurting with his neck and the flip dive spot from AJ, but as usual Kurt continues. It’s a little Steph/Triple H/Test/Kurt all over again with this storyline, but we’ll see what happens.

This could be a nitpicky aspect from me, but I don’t enjoy the format of King of the Mountain. I don’t think matches should be so complicated or overridden with stipulations of any sort. But, for what it’s worth, the last two matches of the show were the best.
