Masochism, marbles and water guns from this week’s ECW all wrapped up in this week’s 10 Thoughts!
1. ECW’s intro video is really amazing. It has a great song, and a good balance of clips from younger “unknown” guys like Bourne and Kingston and “big stars” like Kane and Big Show. Pulls me right into the show.
2. Unfortunately, the next segment wanted to make me gouge my eyes out with a spoon: Armando Estrada vs. Hornswaggle for the second week in a row. Except this week it included marbles and water guns.
3. There was a spot where Hornswaggle made Armando trip on the marbles.
Adamle: “I remember when I used to do that… to… my sister!”.
Tazz: “I thought you were going to say you used to do it to yourself!”
Adamle: “No Tazz, haha. I’m not THAT masochistic!”
Adamle is the man.
4. Matt Striker REALLY needs some new tights. It’s a little too revealing. He went up (and lost) against Evan Bourne this week in a really slow and mechanical match. Honestly, Striker looked like robot bumping for Bourne. I guess they’re going to build Bourne fast, which is always a bad thing. Take a look at Orton, he was pushed to the moon since day one. Now he’s at a point in his career where he really can’t top anything he’s done in the past.
5. After watching Kofi Kingston’s entrance week after week, I can assume he is the happiest wrestler on the planet. He’s ALWAYS smiling and looks thankful to be in the spot he’s in.
6. Kofi was fighting Knoxx when Shelton’s music hit. I was thinking “Oh great, another distraction win”. But I couldn’t have been more wrong in my LIFE. Benjamin just walked down the ramp, climbed into the ring and tackled Kofi, straight up. No funny business, these two guys look like they REALLY hate each other. This is an AWESOME feud.
7. Everyone complains about how ECW only has thirteen wrestlers. It’s an hour-long show built around eight wrestlers, ten tops. It’s not that bad at all. I’ve been watching ECW for four weeks now and it has not gotten repetitive once. The only thing that annoyed me pretty much was the Hornswaggle/Estrada/Marbles/Water Gun match.
8. …They honestly went through all the winners of the Million Dollar Mania on last night’s RAW. Nothing like listening to eight different hicks telling Mr. McMahon how much they love him.
9. Go to wwe.com and watch the X-Stream, if anything, do it for the CM Punk/John Morrison match. It was easily the best televised wrestling match of the month.
10. Our main event was a Kane/Big Show “Confrontation”. Honestly? A confrontation? They couldn’t have done a Contract Signing? This wasn’t anything big, it was just a bunch of forced hype for their match at Night of the Champions.
