Raw and Smackdown both made the ballot for the Emmy for Outstanding Variety, Musical or Comedy Series. WrestleMania got a nomination for Outstanding Comedy, Variety or Musical Special.

Ron Simmons explained in an interview with Scripps News where his ‘Damn!’ catchphrase came from. He said that it simply came from watching “younger guys do something in the ring that was really crazy where they could be injuring themselves. Every day you step out in the world, you see something stupid and say, ‘Damn!’ Everybody can relate to that.”

Booker T has an interview with The Sun up here. He is still hopeful that Bobby Lashley will wind up in TNA. On Michael Hayes, he said that “I never had any problems with Michael Hayes. I feel like that issue was just one person not knowing the other. I’ve known Michael for many, many years… and Michael always thought he was black. He was always saying black things in a black way. I think that whatever happened up there was taken out of context and has been blown way out of proportion and they’re feeling it right now in so many different ways, and this is just one of them. And they always say – you reap what you sow.”

Shawn Michaels’ father had heart surgery recently but is doing better now. Michaels was not on Raw last week because he was selling his injury from the Chris Jericho beatdown. Word backstage is that if Michaels wants to get his former student Bryan Danielson hired then he would be able to make it happen.

Brian Gerwitz and Gerald Brisco were also not at Raw last week. They had booked vacations as WWE was originally meant to not be taping that day. Michael Hayes was backstage helping out and it is expected that he will address all the wrestlers backstage at this week’s tri-branded Raw.

The Clinton News in Mississppi has a feature on their website about Ted Dibiase Snr and Jr and the latter’s recent WWE debut.

WWE had planned to feature Torrie Wilson in a non-wrestling role and in a public relations capacity after her doctors advised her to retire due to back trouble. However, Wilson asked for release as she wanted to travel less and pursue her own business interests. WWE has apparently agreed to cover the expenses of her back surgery and rehab.
