Notes on Mysterio’s Contract, Punk’s Attitude, Ron Killings & Umaga

News

Jason Powell at Prowrestling.net is reporting that CM Punk’s reputation is improving backstage, and he’s worked hard to have less attitude. There are still some skeptics, and now that he’s on Raw, much of his fate is in the hands of head writer Brian Gewirtz, who once called him an Edge knockoff.

Powell also writes that Ron Killings will debut on TV next month, using “The Truth” nickname, which Vince Russo may or may not have come up with and TNA may or may not have gotten a copyright on … That Umaga may cut his own promos on Smackdown … and that Rey Mysterio is in contract negotiations with WWE, despite having around a year left on it before it expires (it would have been sooner, but WWE has a clause in contracts that allows them to extend them if wrestlers are hurt, for the amount of time — in Mysterio’s case, about 10 months — they were out of action).
