Taylor to the Capitol

Well, who saw that coming.

After the injury it was pretty much a slam dunk.

After losing Defensive End Phillip Daniels to a knee injury on the first day of training camp, the Washington Redskins agreed to a trade that will send Pro-Bowl Defensive End Jason Taylor to Washington from Miami.

The Dolphins will recieve a 2nd round pick in 2009 and a 6th round pick in 2010.

Daniels was injured ON THE FIRST PLAY!

ON THE FIRST DAY!

YOU POOR BASTARD!

Talk about a gut punch. Daniels lept over a teammate and landed awkwardly on his knee. He’s expected to have surgery on Friday.

But that wasn’t enough for the Skins, they had to have a few more injuries today.

Another defensive end, Alex Buzbee ruptured his Achilles and will also be out for the year.

Cornerback Fred Smoot sprained his ankle later in practice after being landed on by WR Santana Moss. All those injuries left new head coach Jim Zorn a bit flustered, but still in surprisingly good spirits.

“I love sprained ankles now, because we know that’s just a few days’ deal,” Zorn said.
