10 Thoughts on TNA Impact – 07.31.2008

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

1. Decent opening match between Cage & Rhino and Beer Money but a bit too much interference for me. However, LAX/Beer Money and Cage & Rhino/Team 3D in a New Jersey Street Fight are nice additions to the PPV.

2. Booker being “helped” by Sting is still pretty interesting because there are several different routes TNA can take with the angle. Either Sting, Booker, or Nash are behind the attacks. TNA has created some nice unpredictability.

3. I’m not sure why Styles is calling out Sting and searching for answers. If anything, Joe should be the one demanding answers and calling out Sting.

4. I wish Styles would quit looking so damn weak against Angle. I mean whatever happened to Styles vowing to hurt Angle. Hopefully Styles can pick up a win over Angle at the PPV.

5. Nice match between Creed and Petey. It will be interesting to see how they work with more time on PPV.

6. Styles showed some nice emotion in his promos but at the same time it seemed to me he was trying a bit too hard.

7. The angle with Kaz is interesting and if TNA really wants to play it up they should have Kaz take up more indy bookings to create the illusion that he really has left.

8. It’s good to see Tomko is back in the fold of things with TNA because just a few months ago he was the hottest thing going.

9. Pretty average main event. I know TNA wants to showcase the Knockouts but they could have done a much better job especially in the main event position. It was pretty cool to see Kong destroy Gail & Wilde though.

10. Great product placing by TNA when they showed the video game entrances of the wrestlers in the game during their entrances. It was a very nice way to advertise the game and get fans interested into it.
